Susceptibility of preparasitic stages of Chordodes nobilii (Gordiida, Nematomorpha) to the fungicide carbendazim

open access: yesJournal of Helminthology, 2014
AbstractWe evaluated the effect of carbendazim on non-target organisms using the parasite Chordodes nobilii as a test organism. The Gordiida act as a link between freshwater and terrestrial ecosystems; and C. nobilii, a neotropical representative species of this group, has been shown to be sensitive to other contaminants even at environmentally ...

Scanning electron microscopy of Chordodes moutoni Camerano, 1895 (Gordiida, Nematomorpha)

open access: yesZootaxa, 2005
Taxonomic characters of both male and female horse-hair worms Chordodes moutoni Camerano, 1895 (Nematomorpha) are re-described using scanning electron microscopy. The features are compared with the original description. C. moutoni cuticle has five different areolar types in male while female have six types of areoles.

open access: yesGayana, 2008
Field observations revealed, for the first time, cases of predation on Gordius austrinus by Salmo trutta in Risopatrón Lake, Aysén Region, Chile. Reinvestigation by SEM of the characteristics of the posterior end and of the cuticle of the specimens of ...

Susceptibility of Chordodes nobilii (Gordiida, Nematomorpha) to three pesticides: Influence of the water used for dilution on endpoints in an ecotoxicity bioassay

open access: yesEnvironmental Pollution, 2018
The increased use of pesticides during recent years necessitates a reevaluation of the effect of those compounds by extending the range of nontarget species commonly used in risk assessment. In the present work, we thus determined the impact of the pesticides glyphosate, carbendazim, and malathion on the parasite Chordodes nobilii in both natural and ...
