We evaluated the effect of carbendazim on non-target organisms using the parasite Chordodes nobilii as a test organism. The Gordiida act as a link between freshwater and terrestrial ecosystems; and C. nobilii, a neotropical representative species of this

Infectivity of Chordodes nobilii larvae (Gordiida: Nematomorpha).

LIFE CYCLE AND PARATENESIS OF AMERICAN GORDIIDS (NEMATOMORPHA: GORDIIDA)
To complete their life cycle, gordiids must make a transition from aquatic to terrestrial environments. However, epibenthic aquatic larvae and their terrestrial definitive hosts do not overlap in habitat. This has led many investigators to suggest that infections are acquired through the ingestion of insects, which become infected as aquatic larvae ...

Scanning electron microscopy of Chordodes moutoni Camerano, 1895 (Gordiida, Nematomorpha)
Taxonomic characters of both male and female horse-hair worms Chordodes moutoni Camerano, 1895 (Nematomorpha) are re-described using scanning electron microscopy. The features are compared with the original description. C. moutoni cuticle has five different areolar types in male while female have six types of areoles.

Larval survival strategy during winter of Chordodes nobilii Camerano, 1901 (Gordiida, Nematomorpha) [PDF]
There are numerous open questions concerning the life cycle of Gordiida (Nematomorpha), especially about egg development and viability of larvae during winter, when the temperature of freshwater environments where they inhabit is low.
