Non‐Destructive Hydrophobic Engineering of Inverse Catalysts for Methanol Synthesis from CO2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, we report a non‐destructive hydrophobic modification strategy for ZrO2/Cu catalyst through physical mixing with PDVB. The optimized ZrO2/Cu‐PDVB catalyst achieves a methanol space‐time yield of 920.10 mgCH3OH gcat−1 h−1 under mild conditions, outperforming the unmodified catalyst by 30 %.

DECENTRALIZATION´S EFFECTS ON EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES IN BOLIVIA AND COLOMBIA [PDF]

open access: yes
The effects of decentralization on public sector outputs is much debated but little agreed upon. This paper compares the remarkable case of Bolivia with the more complex case of Colombia to explore decentralization´s effects on public education outcomes.

Synergistic Spin‐Polarization and Single‐Atom Engineering in Magnetic Heterojunctions for Efficient Solar Water Splitting

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
High‐throughput screening led to the identification of 67 Z‐scheme heterojunctions (comprising 2D magnetic transition metal halides and non‐magnetic transition metal chalcogenides). For CrI3/MoTe2 and CrI3/WTe2, electronic structure analysis demonstrated that synergistic crystallographic point group and built‐in electric field effects generate a ...

DC‐magnetometry Analytical Tool Driven by Spin Ordering Phenomena for Sensing Chemical Interactions at the Surface of Nanomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The adsorption of AsV on akaganeite nanorods was found to provide a magnetic signature. A change in the surface spin order gave rise to a second peak in the zero‐field cooled curve. AsIII adsorption does not provide any change in the magnetic behavior of the sorbent.

Climate Action Needs Investment Governance, Not Investment Protection and Arbitration

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal
Existing investment treaties do not and cannot advance climate goals. There is a fundamental misalignment between the existing international investment regime—including its centerpiece: investor–state arbitration—and the actions needed to meet the objectives of the international climate regime and avoid catastrophic climate change.

Does public investment reduce private investment risk ? A real option approach [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper, the public investment provision takes place in a stochastic environnement. The role of the government is to remove a part of the uncertainty faced by the firm.

Harnessing Phase Separation for the Development of High‐Performance Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hydrogels are indispensable for the development of next‐generation bioelectronics, soft robotics, and biomedical devices, where their mechanical properties determine performance and reliability. Among strategies to enhance hydrogel mechanics, phase separation enables controlled heterogeneity resulting in gel networks that are reinforced by ...
