Mechanisms of Projected Changes in Thunderstorm Downburst Environments Across the United States
Abstract Responses of downdraft convective available potential energy (DCAPE) to global warming were investigated using the Community Earth System Model (CESM2) under a high‐emission scenario through the year 2100. DCAPE is projected to increase by 5%–12% on average in most areas, independently of wind shear.

Detecting long-memory: Monte Carlo simulations and application to daily streamflow processes [PDF]
The Lo's modified rescaled adjusted range test (R/S test) (Lo, 1991), GPH test (Geweke and Porter-Hudak, 1983) and two approximate maximum likelihood estimation methods, i.e., Whittle's estimator (W-MLE) and another one implemented in S-Plus (S-

Filtered Log-periodogram Regression of long memory processes [PDF]
Filtered log-periodogram regression estimation of the fractional differencing parameter d is considered. Asymptotic properties are derived and the effect of filtering on ˆ d is investigated. It is shown that the estimator by Geweke and Porter-Hudak (1983)

The Influence of Rational Dimension in the GPH-MILF Peace Process [PDF]
Resolution of the so-called “Bangsamoro Question” rests at the heart of the peace process between the Government of the Philippines (GPH) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in the Southern Philippines, also known as the Bangsamoro homeland. Inspired by Allison and Zelikow’s conceptualization of Rational Actor Model (RAM), this paper analyzed ...

TESTING THE LONG RANGE-DEPENDENCE FOR THE CENTRAL EASTERN EUROPEAN AND THE BALKANS STOCK MARKETS [PDF]
In this study we tested the existence of long memory in the the return series for major Central Eastern European and Balkans stock markets, using the following statistical methods: Hurst Exponent, GPH method, Andrews and Guggenberger method, Reisen ...

Distinguishing between long-range dependence and deterministic trends [PDF]
We provide a method for distinguishing long-range dependence from deterministic trends such as structural breaks. The method is based on the comparison of standard log-periodogram regression estimation of the memory parameter with its tapered counterpart.

GPHS (General Purpose Heat Source) uranium oxide encapsulations supporting satellite safety tests [PDF]
General Purpose Heat Source (GPHS) simulant-fueled capsules were assembled, welded, nondestructively examined, and shipped to Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) for satellite safety tests. Simulant-fueled iridium capsules contain depleted uranium oxide pellets that serve as a stand-in for plutonium-238 oxide pellets.

This paper investigates the use of shrinkage estimators in the generalized Poisson hurdle (GPH) model for count data analysis. The GPH model effectively handles data with both excess zeros and over- or underdispersion.
