Effect of Intracanal Medications on the Viability of Human Periodontal Ligament‐Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells

open access: yesAustralian Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This in vitro study evaluated the effects of intracanal medications on the metabolic activity and adhesion of human periodontal ligament‐derived mesenchymal stem cells. Tested groups included Control (without medication), Triple Antibiotic Paste (TAP), Double Antibiotic Paste (DAP), calcium hydroxide with saline, calcium hydroxide with 2 ...

Phonon mediated interlayer conductance in twisted graphene bilayers

open access: yes, 2012
Conduction between graphene layers is suppressed by momentum conservation whenever the layer stacking has a rotation. Here we show that phonon scattering plays a crucial role in facilitating interlayer conduction.

Ultimate Tensile Strength Evaluation of Bi‐Colored Ethylene‐Vinyl Acetate (EVA) Sheets In‐Office Manufactured With Different Heating Protocols

open access: yesDental Traumatology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Aim Bi‐colored mouthguards (MTG) are often sought by both professional and amateur athletes. Bi‐colored MTG can be made in the dental office from premanufactured bi‐colored EVA sheets or custom‐designed in the dental office for greater color variety.

Thermal stress test of GPHS aeroshell material

open access: yes, 1979
A thermal stress test was conducted to determine the ability of the GPHS aeroshell 3-D FWPF material to maintain physical and mechanical integrity when exposed to a severe heat flux environment such as would occur from prompt reentry of GPHS modules.

Immune cell infiltration correlates with intestinal permeability, inflammation, and gastrointestinal symptoms in type 1 diabetes

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
In individuals with type 1 diabetes, immune cell infiltration in the colon mucosa tended to correlate with fecal and systemic markers of intestinal permeability and inflammation, as well as gastrointestinal symptoms. These findings suggest that low‐grade gut immune activation might link the intestinal barrier dysfunction with systemic endotoxin ...

GPHS motion studies for heat pulse intervals of reentries from gravity-assist trajectories. [General Purpose Heat Source Module (GPHS)]

open access: yes, 1990
Motion studies of the General Purpose Heat Source Module, GPHS, were conducted in the heat pulse interval associated with entries from earth gravity assist trajectories. The APL six-degree-of-freedom reentry program designated TMAGRA6C was used. The objectives of the studies were to (1) determine the effect of ablation on GPHS motion, and (2) determine

Validation of the PROMIS Global Physical and Mental Health Scale for Gastrointestinal Disorders: A Large‐Scale Cross‐Sectional Survey

open access: yesNeurogastroenterology &Motility, EarlyView.
The 4‐item revised version of the Hays model from the PROMIS Global Health Scale exhibits stronger psychometric properties than the original model. This ultra‐brief assessment tool is a reliable measure for evaluating quality of life in both gastrointestinal and non‐gastrointestinal cohorts.
