Possible role of microtubules in vesicular transport of matrix protein during sea urchin larval biomineralization

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Biomineralization is a vital biological process through which organisms produce mineralized structures such as shells, skeletons, and teeth. Microtubules are essential for biomineralization in various eukaryotic species; however, their specific roles in this process remain unclear.

Continuities in Policies and Turnover Among Actors: Instrument Constituencies in French Primary Care Reforms

open access: yesEuropean Policy Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Over the past decade, the concept of “instrument constituency” has been proposed as a way in which to bridge studies on policy networks and policy instruments. This concept focuses on policy networks composed of diverse actors who are brought together by the shared goal of promoting a specific instrument.

Robust GPS Carrier Tracking Model Using Unscented Kalman Filter for a Dynamic Vehicular Communication Channel

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
The carrier tracking loop in a GPS receiver is considered to be an important process but also a weak link since the loss of signal lock can occur in a variety of situations. Low carrier-to-noise ratios and highly dynamic environments are common scenarios

GPS signal acquisition and tracking using software GPS receiver

open access: yesProceedings of the Eighth International Symposium on Signal Processing and Its Applications, 2005., 2006
In this paper we investigate GPS signal acquisition and tracking using software GPS receiver. The software GPS receiver consists of a RF front-end, an ADC, and a software GPS program that runs on PC. The RF front-end down-converts the signal from RF to IF, and the ADC samples the IF signal.

Movement decisions reflect compromised statewide connectivity for mountain lions in California

open access: yesFrontiers in Ecology and the Environment, EarlyView.
Human‐induced habitat fragmentation threatens connectivity for populations of wide‐ranging species by compromising long‐distance dispersal. We evaluated movement‐based resource selection of dispersing mountain lions (Puma concolor) to identify specific landscape conditions influencing movement decisions and connectivity between populations across the ...

Laser-Based Pedestrian Tracking in Outdoor Environments by Multiple Mobile Robots

open access: yesSensors, 2012
This paper presents an outdoors laser-based pedestrian tracking system using a group of mobile robots located near each other. Each robot detects pedestrians from its own laser scan image using an occupancy-grid-based method, and the robot tracks the ...
