The geometry of zonotopal algebras II: Orlik–Terao algebras and Schubert varieties

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 132, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Zonotopal algebras, introduced by Postnikov–Shapiro–Shapiro, Ardila–Postnikov, and Holtz–Ron, show up in many different contexts, including approximation theory, representation theory, Donaldson–Thomas theory, and hypertoric geometry. In the first half of this paper, we construct a perfect pairing between the internal zonotopal algebra of a ...

Algebraicity of ratios of special L$L$‐values for GL(n)$\mathrm{GL}(n)$

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract We prove, under certain assumptions, the algebraicity of the ratio L(m,Π×χ)/L(m,Π×χ′)$L(m, \Pi \times \chi)/L(m, \Pi \times \chi ^{\prime })$, where Π$\Pi$ is a cuspidal automorphic cohomological unitary representation of GLn(AQ)$\mathrm{GL}_n(\mathbb {A}_\mathbb {Q})$, and χ$\chi$, χ′$\chi ^{\prime }$ are finite‐order Hecke characters such ...

Solving the n $n$‐Player Tullock Contest

open access: yesJournal of Public Economic Theory, Volume 28, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT The n $n$‐player Tullock contest with complete information is known to admit explicit solutions in special cases, such as (i) homogeneous valuations, (ii) constant returns, and (iii) two contestants. But can the model be solved more generally?

Computing one of Victor Moll's irresistible integrals with computer algebra [PDF]

open access: yesComputer Science Journal of Moldova, 2008
We investigate a certain quartic integral from V. Moll's book “Irresistible Integrals” and demonstrate how it can be solved by computer algebra methods, namely by using non-commutative Gröbner bases.

R symmetries and a heterotic MSSM

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2015
We employ powerful techniques based on Hilbert and Gröbner bases to analyze particle physics models derived from string theory. Individual models are shown to have a huge landscape of vacua that differ in their phenomenological properties. We explore the

Generalizing Determinacy under Monetary and Fiscal Policy Switches: The Case of the Zero Lower Bound

open access: yesJournal of Money, Credit and Banking, Volume 58, Issue 2, Page 421-448, March 2026.
Abstract In a fixed‐regime context, it has been established since the work of Leeper (1991) that a determinate and unique equilibrium can be achieved under both monetary dominance (characterized by an active monetary policy and a passive fiscal policy) and fiscal dominance (characterized by an active fiscal policy and a passive monetary policy) regimes

Gröbner Bases and Minimum Distance of Affine Varieties Codes

open access: yesTrends in Computational and Applied Mathematics, 2012
Nesse trabalho apresentamos um método para estimar a distância mínima de códigos de variedades afins. Nossa técnica usa propriedades da pegada de um ideal obtido através do aumento do ideal de definição da variedade em questão.

Divisors on graphs, Connected flags, and Syzygies [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2013
We study the binomial and monomial ideals arising from linear equivalence of divisors on graphs from the point of view of Gröbner theory. We give an explicit description of a minimal Gröbner basis for each higher syzygy module.

A tropical approach to rigidity: Counting realisations of frameworks

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 113, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract A realisation of a graph in the plane as a bar‐joint framework is rigid if there are finitely many other realisations, up to isometries, with the same edge lengths. Each of these finitely many realisations can be seen as a solution to a system of quadratic equations prescribing the distances between pairs of points.

Border Basis of an Ideal of Points and its Application in Experimental Design and Regression

open access: yesپژوهش‌های ریاضی, 2020
Introduction Border bases are a generalization of Gröbner bases for zero-dimensional ideals which have attracted the interest of many researchers recently. More precisely, border bases provide a new method to find a structurally stable monomial basis for
