GRACE gravity solutions validated by in-situ ocean bottom pressure in different regions of the global ocean [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The GRACE satellite mission provides gravity field estimates of the Earth with unprecedented accuracy. Nevertheless, the realistic detection of oceanic mass redistribution remains challenging due to comparatively small signalamplitude, aliasing by tides ...

Downscaling GRACE total water storage change using partial least squares regression

open access: yesScientific Data, 2021
The Gravity Recovery And Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellite mission recorded temporal variations in the Earth’s gravity field, which are then converted to Total Water Storage Change (TWSC) fields representing an anomaly in the water mass stored in all ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Progressive neurodegeneration, motor decline, and premature mortality in aging Ngly1 deficient rats

open access: yesOrphanet Journal of Rare Diseases
Background N-glycanase 1 (NGLY1) Deficiency is an ultra-rare autosomal recessive disorder of deglycosylation caused by loss-of-function mutations in the NGLY1 gene. Patients present with developmental delay, intellectual disability, hyperkinetic movement

Evaluating Groundwater Storage Change and Recharge Using GRACE Data: A Case Study of Aquifers in Niger, West Africa

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
Accurately assessing groundwater storage changes in Niger is critical for long-term water resource management but is difficult due to sparse field data. We present a study of groundwater storage changes and recharge in Southern Niger, computed using data
