Matrix‐Isolation Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Studies of Radical Ions and Neutral Radicals Generated by Radiolysis of Organic Molecules at Cryogenic Temperatures

open access: yesThe Chemical Record, EarlyView.
By selecting an appropriate matrix and irradiating the matrix containing a trace amount of solute at low temperatures, ionic or neutral radicals derived from the solute can be generated and trapped in the matrix. EPR spectroscopy of these samples yields highly detailed information on the radicals, inaccessible by other experimental techniques. Electron

A Bird's Eye View of English Grammar: Connecting the Dots in Two Dimensions

open access: yesTESOL Quarterly, EarlyView.

Actionable visualization principles and guidance for a foundational university data science course

open access: yesTeaching Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract When teaching how to describe and apply good practices for visualizing data, we need to define “good”. Several sets of guidelines about good visualization practice exist in the literature and online, though each set focuses on different aspects of visualization and their level ranges from very general to very specific.

Crisis, temporality and governmental policy agendas: The cases of Finland and Sweden

open access: yesScandinavian Political Studies, EarlyView.
Abstract Crises transform the temporal orientation of political decision‐making. They demand immediate and decisive action and thus convert time into a means of political control. In these circumstances, assessing the long‐term consequences of proposed policies with respect to welfare, sustainability or justice also becomes demanding.
