Investigation of D‐Shape Plastic Optical Fiber Towards Ethanol Concentration
A d‐shaped plastic optical fiber (POF) sensor coated with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) was developed for real‐time ethanol concentration detection. The d‐shaped sensing region enhances evanescent‐field interaction with the surrounding ethanol solution, while the CNT coating further improves light–matter interaction and ethanol adsorption.

This study integrates network pharmacology and an in vivo mouse model to elucidate the mechanisms underlying Fumonisin B1 (FB1)‐induced liver injury and early fibrosis. In silico predictions identified 56 core targets, with TP53, EP300, and MTOR demonstrating strong molecular docking affinities for FB1. In vivo validation showed that FB1 exposure (5 mg/

We propose an experimental realization of flat-top filters by fabricating fiber Bragg gratings in graded-index multimode fibers (GI-MMF). Two types of GI-MMFs were used to make this kind of filters, and their spectra and polarization properties were ...

Femtosecond‐laser inscription enables precise positioning of fiber Bragg gratings within the cladding, introducing new spatial and modal design freedoms. Auxiliary‐waveguide, near‐core evanescent‐field, and direct cladding‐mode‐excitation architectures provide complementary pathways toward multiparameter, vector, distributed, and environmentally ...

Modular Metalloprotein Nanowires With Semiconductor‐Scale Conductivity and Tunable Redox Behavior
Conductive protein nanowires are built by aligning three different metalloproteins along an ultrastable filament scaffold. The resulting micrometer‐length nanowires reach conductivities of 1.75 S cm−1. Redox behavior is set by the metalloprotein chosen, while conductivity is governed by the spacing the scaffold imposes, making both independently ...

ATP Release and Purinergic Signaling Potentiate β‐Adrenergic Effects on Brown Adipocytes
ABSTRACT Aim Brown adipose tissue (BAT) specializes in energy consumption and thermogenesis in response to cold stress. Brown adipocytes (BA) express purinergic receptors, yet little is known about the source of extracellular ATP and the role of purinergic signaling, and the potential interaction with β‐adrenergic signaling.

ABSTRACT Background Skin aging is characterized by decline in structural integrity, extracellular matrix (ECM) organization, and biomechanical function. Emerging concepts in skin longevity emphasize preservation of tissue resilience through modulation of aging pathways, including mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (TORC1), a central regulator of

Beam shaping in segmented GaAs photovoltaic power converters is investigated using quasi‐Gaussian and annular illumination profiles from a double‐clad fiber. The findings show that beam profile and fiber‐to‐device separation govern voltage, fill factor (FF), and conversion efficiency.
