We report on a surface-electrode trap with SmCo magnets arranged in a quadrupole configuration underneath the trap electrode. Because the distance between the magnets and the trapped ions can be as little as several hundred micrometers, a large magnetic ...

Gradient power reducing using pulsed selection-field sequences
Large selection-field power is required to generate a sufficient gradient strength in Magnetic Particle Imaging (MPI). Without cooling, the subsequent heat generation can limit the maximum experiment time. For commercially available MPI scanners a lot of

Low-Power Iron Selection and Focus Field Generator
A major issue for human-sized Magnetic Particle Imaging (MPI) scanners is the generation of sufficiently large magnetic gradient fields. By taking advantage of the field amplification properties of soft iron, a considerable amount of power can be saved ...

Pulse Reverse Plating of Copper Micro-Structures in Magnetic Gradient Fields
Micro-structured copper layers are obtained from pulse-reverse electrodeposition on a planar gold electrode that is magnetically patterned by magnetized iron wires underneath. 3D numerical simulations of the electrodeposition based on an adapted reaction

FARADAY MAGNETOMETER WITH SHERIC POLE PIECES: IDENTIFICATION ZONE WITH A STABLE FORCE FACTOR
Basic principles and approaches in generation of devices for realization Faraday method are evaluated (for learning magnetic susceptibility of samples). It is noticed that problem exists - it is difficult to identify an operating area to coordinate here ...

High resolution field imaging with atomic vapor cells [PDF]
In this thesis, I report on the development of imaging techniques in atomic vapor cells. This is a relatively unexplored area, despite the ubiquitous use of imaging in experiments with ultracold atoms.

Corrosion Pattern of a Steel under a Magnetic Field and the Gradient Magnetic Field
This paper reports our observations of concentrated heavy corrosion patterns of a steel cylinder, and the relationship between the corrosion pattern and a gradient magnetic field near the steel. A uniform static magnetic field up to 3 T was applied to the steel in our experiment.

Detection of Virgin Olive Oil Adulteration Using Low Field Unilateral NMR
The detection of adulteration in edible oils is a concern in the food industry, especially for the higher priced virgin olive oils. This article presents a low field unilateral nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) method for the detection of the adulteration

Magnetoelectric control of surface anisotropy and nucleation modes in L10-CoPt thin films
The interplay between electric field controlled surface magnetic anisotropy and micromagnetic nucleation modes for L10-CoPt thin-film is investigated with density-functional and micromagnetic model calculations.
