Gradient‐porous structure of silicon

physica status solidi c, 2007
AbstractSilicon membranes with through pores have been manufactured based on silicon plates with a gradient‐porous structure (GPSi), in which the pore cross section and structure varies with depth. The obtained structure can serve a basis for the development of electrodes for solid polymer fuel cells.

Magnetoresponsive Photonic Microspheres with Structural Color Gradient

Advanced Materials, 2017
Photonic Janus particles are created by alternately sputtering silica and titania on microspheres in order to obtain a structural color gradient. In addition, the microspheres are rendered magnetoresponsive. The Janus microspheres with optical and magnetic anisotropy enable on-demand control over orientation and structural color through manipulation of

Gravity Gradients Over a Simple Two‐Dimensional Structure: Interval Gradients Redux

Symposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Environmental Problems 2007, 2007
Back in the days before “full tensor gravity gradiometers” were available and the in vogue topic for potential fields papers, there was a rich and extensive literature discussing gravity gradients from the perspective of interval (finite difference) gradients from gravity measurements or from derivative filter transformations of gravity maps.

Gradient Models, Gradient Analysis, and Hierarchical Structure in Plant Communities

Oikos, 1997
Oikos 78: 23-30. Two general models of plant community structure, the community-unit and the continuum, have dominated the thinking of American community ecologists. Hy- potheses derived from these and other models of plant community structure rarely have been tested, however.

Structural optimization by gradient-based neural networks

International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 1999
Summary: We present a neurocomputing strategy which combines data processing capabilities of neural networks and numerical structural optimization. In this strategy, we use an improved counterpropagation neural network. Two artificial neural networks are trained, one for the constraints and the other for the gradients of the constraints, and structural

Hydrodynamic fabrication of structurally gradient ZnO nanorods

Nanotechnology, 2016
We studied a new approach where structurally gradient nanostructures were fabricated by means of hydrodynamics. Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanorods were synthesized in a drag-driven rotational flow in a controlled manner. The structural characteristics of nanorods such as orientation and diameter were determined by momentum and mass transfer at the substrate ...

Progress on high-gradient structures

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2013
We review recent results of R&D efforts directed toward increasing the operating gradients of normal conducting accelerating structures. This work includes study of the basic physics of rf breakdown phenomena and high power tests of full scale accelerating structures.
