An automated and versatile ultra-low temperature SQUID magnetometer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We present the design and construction of a SQUID-based magnetometer for operation down to temperatures T = 10 mK, while retaining the compatibility with the sample holders typically used in commercial SQUID magnetometers.

Calibration of QM-MOURA three-axis magnetometer and gradiometer [PDF]

open access: yesGeoscientific Instrumentation, Methods and Data Systems, 2015
MOURA instrument is a three-axis magnetometer and gradiometer designed and developed for Mars MetNet Precursor mission. The initial scientific goal of the instrument is to measure the local magnetic field in the surroundings of the lander i.e.

Multi‐Method Geophysical Surveys Between and Around the Kerlescan and the Manio Megalithic Alignments in Carnac (Morbihan, France)

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Carnac alignments in Morbihan (France) are among the most famous Neolithic sites of the world. Paradoxically, they have benefited little from a thorough renewal of archaeological data over the past century. There are many reasons for this, but it is mainly because the site has been regarded more as a monument to visit and protect than as ...

A spaceborne gravity gradiometer concept based on cold atom interferometers for measuring Earth's gravity field

open access: yes, 2014
We propose a concept for future space gravity missions using cold atom interferometers for measuring the diagonal elements of the gravity gradient tensor and the spacecraft angular velocity.

The Layout and Size of an Early Pre‐Pottery Neolithic B Small Settlement Revealed by Geophysical Prospection at Harbetsuvan Tepesi in Southeastern Anatolia

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In Upper Mesopotamia, the transition from the Pre‐Pottery Neolithic A (PPNA) to Pre‐Pottery Neolithic B (PPNB) period, ca. 10 800–10 600 cal. BP, is marked by a series of changes in chipped stone industries, architectural forms, symbolic objects, regional distribution of settlements and long‐distance exchange networks among others.

Tunnel Magnetoresistance Sensor with AC Modulation and Impedance Compensation for Ultra-Weak Magnetic Field Measurement

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR) is a kind of magnetic sensor with the advantages of low cost and high sensitivity. For ultra-weak and low-frequency magnetic field measurement, the TMR sensor is affected by the 1/f noise.

A Prospection‐Led Archaeological Investigation of a Picenian and Roman Necropolis in Corinaldo (Marche, Italy)

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper presents the results of an integrated archaeological and geophysical investigation conducted between 2018 and 2024 at the newly discovered Picenian and Roman necropolis of Contrada Nevola (Corinaldo, Marche, Central Italy), identified in the framework of development‐led archaeology. The research strategy combined aerial photography,

Calibration for GOCE Gradiometer Data Based on the Prior Gravity Models [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Geodesy and Geoinformation Science, 2019
The determination of the calibration parameters of the gravity gradiometer play an important role in the GOCE gravity gradient data processing. In this paper, the temporal signals and outliers in the GOCE gravity gradient observations are analyzed. Based

Challenges and Opportunities in Multi‐Method Integrated Geophysical Prospection of Buried Building Remains at the Sanctuary of Olympia

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Ancient Olympia was one of the most important sanctuaries and the venue for the Olympic Games in Greek and Roman times. Its remains are located in the Olympia Terrace (Peloponnese, Greece) at the present‐day confluence of the rivers Alpheios and Kladeos at the base of Mount Kronos.

A Three‐Dimensional Structural Model for Predicting Magnetic Exchange and Hydrogen Positions in Bis‐μ‐Hydroxido Cu(II) Dimers

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Magneto‐structural correlation in bis‐μ‐hydroxido Cu(II) dimers: The out‐of‐plane angle (α) of bridging hydroxido groups critically influences the exchange coupling constant (J). A three‐dimensional correlation combining α and the Cu‐OH‐Cu angle (θ) enables computationally accurate J prediction.
