Endovascular stent grafts for aneurysmal and occlusive vascular disease

The American Journal of Surgery, 1998
This report details our initial experience with two types of endovascular grafts- one for the treatment of infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysms and the other for the treatment of iliac artery occlusive disease. An abdominal aortic aneurysm was repaired in 34 patients using 3 different types of Ancure endografts (Menlo Park, California).

Intravenous digital subtraction angiography in diagnosis of vascular graft occlusion

Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology, 1985
Differentiation is often difficult between vascular graft occlusion and progression of underlying disease in patients after vascular surgery. We have studied 57 patients after surgery for traumatic and atherosclerotic arterial occlusion and other vascular anomalies using a commercial digital subtraction angiography (DSA) unit; no complications occurred.

Thrombophilia in Patients with Occlusions of Vascular Bypass Grafts.

Blood, 2005
Abstract Background: Causes of vascular bypass occlusions are surgical failure, hyperplastic intima, progression of arterial occlusive disease and thrombophilic disorders. The aim of this registry was to determine the prevalence of thrombophilic risk factors in patients with occlusions of arterial bypass grafts of the lower extremities.

Patch graft angioplasty techniques for extracranial occlusive vascular disease

Operative Techniques in Neurosurgery, 1998
Patch graft angioplasty is a useful technical alternative for arteriotomy closure. In our experience, patch graft angioplasty has been reserved for patients with recurrent stenosis, those with smaller than normal arteries, and those who have radiation arteriopathy after previous treatment for a malignancy. Patch graft angioplasty is also useful for the

Sciatic Palsy after Total Hip Arthroplasty Associated with Vascular Graft Occlusion

HIP International, 2011
Sciatic nerve palsy is a well-recognised complication of total hip arthroplasty, and causes include direct injury during surgery (crushing or electrocautery), compression or stretching of the nerve, thermal damage caused by leaked bone cement, trauma during dislocation or reduction of the hip, haematoma, traction caused by leg lengthening or ...

Clinical Application of Endovascular Grafts in Aortoiliac Occlusive Disease and Vascular Trauma

Cardiovascular Surgery, 1995
Intravascular stents and stented grafts are becoming important tools for the management of a variety of vascular lesions. This review addresses the technical feasibility and early results of aortoiliac endovascular reconstructions for limb salvage as well as the placement of stented grafts for the treatment of traumatic arterial lesions.

Successful Thrombolytic Therapy for Acute and Chronic Occlusion of Polytef Vascular Grafts

Archives of Surgery, 1983
Thrombolytic therapy for thrombosed arterial bypass grafts has received little attention in the medical literature. We carried out successful thrombolysis in occluded polytef arterial bypass grafts. A femoral-femoral artery crossover graft had been occluded 13 days, and a femoral-popliteal artery bypass graft had been occluded three months. No surgical

Increased leukocyte-platelet adhesion in patients with graft occlusion after peripheral vascular surgery

Thrombosis and Haemostasis, 2003
SummaryGraft occlusion following peripheral vascular surgery is attributable to some combination of acute thrombosis, and progression of atherosclerosis: interactions between leukocytes and activated platelets may play a role in both of these processes.

The Effect of Venous Occlusion on the Integration of Vascularized Cortical Bone Graft

Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery, 1993
The biologic phenomena involved in the healing process of vascularized, cortical bone grafts, vascularized grafts with venous occlusion, and conventional cortical bone grafts, were studied in rabbits. The middle third of the radial diaphysis was the donor site, with a 1.6-cm-long bone cylinder delimited by double transverse osteotomies.
