Graft-recipient-weight ratio and lowered immunosuppression is important for the success of adult liver retransplantation

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
This study analyzed the risk of liver retransplantation and factors related to better outcome. Adult liver transplantations performed during 1996–2021 were included. Comparison between first transplantation and retransplantation were performed.

Donor gender effect on graft function in adult Egyptian patients undergoing living donor liver transplantation: A single centre study

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Anaesthesia, 2022
Background The aim of this study was to evaluate the role of donor-to-recipient gender match in the setting of living donor liver transplant as a potential predictor of graft and recipient survivals. Methods In this retrospective, single-center study, the

On continuous extension of grafting maps [PDF]

open access: yesTrans. Amer. Math. Soc. 360 (2008), 3731-3749, 2004
The definition of the grafting operation for quasifuchsian groups is extended by Bromberg to all $b$-groups. Although the grafting maps are not necessarily continuous at boundary groups, in this paper, we show that the grafting maps take every "standard" convergent sequence to a convergent sequence.

Optimizing Graft Survival by Pretreatment of the Donor [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, 2017
Over many decades, organ transplantation has overcome remarkable barriers to evolve into a highly successful enterprise. The dominant limitation faced today is, without a doubt, the insufficient supply of transplantable organs.

FoxO1 signaling in B cell malignancies and its therapeutic targeting

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FoxO1 has context‐specific tumor suppressor or oncogenic character in myeloid and B cell malignancies. This includes tumor‐promoting properties such as stemness maintenance and DNA damage tolerance in acute leukemias, or regulation of cell proliferation and survival, or migration in mature B cell malignancies.

Graft outcomes in pediatric kidney transplantation: Focus on the role of race

open access: yesSaudi Journal of Kidney Diseases and Transplantation, 2012
While significant racial disparities in graft outcome persist among adult and pediatric kidney transplant recipients in the US, some international studies do not show these diffe-rences.

The immunological interface: dendritic cells as key regulators in metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) affects nearly one‐third of the global population and poses a significant risk of progression to cirrhosis or liver cancer. Here, we discuss the roles of hepatic dendritic cell subtypes in MASLD, highlighting their distinct contributions to disease initiation and progression, and their ...

The power of microRNA regulation—insights into immunity and metabolism

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
MicroRNAs are emerging as crucial regulators at the intersection of metabolism and immunity. This review examines how miRNAs coordinate glucose and lipid metabolism while simultaneously modulating T‐cell development and immune responses. Moreover, it highlights how cutting‐edge artificial intelligence applications can identify miRNA biomarkers ...

Sequential Intracerebral Transplantation of Allogeneic and Syngeneic Fetal Dopamine-Rich Neuronal Tissue in Adult Rats: Will the First Graft be Rejected?

open access: yesCell Transplantation, 1993
The immune response against intracerebral grafts of allogeneic fetal dopamine-rich tissue was assessed in adult rats. Sprague-Dawley rats, now outbred, but originating from an inbred stock, were given unilateral 6-hydroxy-dopamine lesions of the ...

The oriented graph of multi-graftings in the Fuchsian case [PDF]

open access: yesPublicacions Matematiques 58(1), 2014, 31-46, 2012
We prove the connectedness and calculate the diameter of the oriented graph of graftings associated to exotic complex projective structures on a compact surface S with a given holonomy representation of Fuchsian type. The oriented graph of graftings is the graph whose vertices are the equivalence classes of marked CP^1-structures on S with a given ...
