Dynamics of a Grain-Filled Ball on a Vibrating Plate [PDF]
We study experimentally how the bouncing dynamics of a hollow ball on a vibrating plate is modified when it is partially filled with liquid or grains. Whereas empty and liquid-filled balls display a dominant chaotic dynamics, a ball with grains exhibits a rich variety of stationary states, determined by the grain size and filling volume.

Assessment of durum wheat (Triticum durum) genotypes on grain filling parameters
Durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.), a crucial crop in the Mediterranean basin, faces challenges due to drought, resulting in substantial yield losses. This study was carried out during the winter (rabi) season of 2020–2021 to determine the influence of ...

High post-anthesis temperature effects on bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) grain transcriptome during early grain-filling [PDF]
Background: High post-anthesis (p.a) temperatures significantly reduce mature grain weight in wheat and other cereals. However, the mechanisms through which this reduction occurs are not entirely known. It has been suggested that the pericarp may control

Cytoplasm affects grain weight and filled-grain ratio in indica rice [PDF]
Abstract Background Cytoplasmic effects on agronomic traits -involving cytoplasmic and nuclear genomes of either different species or different cultivars - are well documented in wheat but have seldom been demonstrated in rice (Oryza sativa L.).

Effects of Supplemental Irrigation and Biofertilizers on Yield, Chlorophyll Content, Rate and Period of Grain Filling of Rainfed Wheat [PDF]
Introduction The yield of wheat in Iran is very low as compared to the other wheat producing countries. One of the most important effective factors is water shortage.

Grain filling of cereals under soil drying [PDF]
SummaryMonocarpic plants require the initiation of whole‐plant senescence to remobilize and transfer assimilates pre‐stored in vegetative tissues to grains. Delayed whole‐plant senescence caused by either heavy use of nitrogen fertilizer or adoption of lodging‐resistant cultivars/hybrids that remain green when the grains are due to ripen results in a ...

The relationship between polyamines and hormones in the regulation of wheat grain filling. [PDF]
The grain weight of wheat is strongly influenced by filling. Polyamines (PA) are involved in regulating plant growth. However, the effects of PA on wheat grain filling and its mechanism of action are unclear.
