Distribution and abundance of organic thiols [PDF]
The role of glutathione (GSH) in protecting against the toxicity of oxygen and oxygen by products is well established for all eukaryotes studied except Entamoeba histolytica which lacks mitochrondria, chloroplasts, and microtubules.

This study investigates the genetic and microbial factors influencing the susceptibility of Diaphorina citri to the citrus greening pathogen Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (CLas), employing a microbiome Genome Wide Association Study. The research identifies a key gene encoding an MFS‐type transporter contributing to CLas infectivity and abundance in

ABSTRACT Gut microbiota dysbiosis promotes colorectal cancer (CRC) tumorigenesis. A global fecal metagenomic analysis identified Gemella morbillorum as a key contributor to the CRC‐associated microbiota. Fluorescence in situ hybridization revealed that Gemella morbillorum is enriched in CRC tumor tissues compared to adjacent normal tissues.

Deeply branching Bacillota species exhibit atypical Gram-negative staining
The Gram staining method differentiates bacteria based on their cell envelope structure, with the monoderm and diderm cell envelope types traditionally being synonymous with Gram-positive and Gram-negative stain results, respectively.

This study performs pan‐viromic profiling of 14,529 samples from 5,710 domestic herbivores across five Chinese provinces, establishing the DhCN‐Virome (1,085,360 viral metagenomes). It reveals species/sample‐specific viromic signatures and cross‐species transmission dynamics, aiding unified disease control.

The attenuated total reflectance infrared microspectroscopy of bacterial colonies on agar plates : an honors thesis (HONRS 499) [PDF]
The attenuated total reflectance spectra of 44 species of bacteria were obtained while still on the agar using the infrared microscope. Compared to the specular reflectance spectra of the same species, the v(OH) and S(OH) absorptions are not broad and ...
