Distribution of dipeptides containingd-alanine in crop seedlings of some gramineae
Phytochemistry, 1990Abstract Eleven well-known Gramineae crops except rice were analysed for dipeptides containing d - alanine ( d -Ala). Very small amounts of d -alanyl- d -alanine ( d -Ala- d -Ala) (0.3 μmol g −1 fr. leaves or less) were found in only two species, Italian millet and oat. After feeding d -Ala, the d -Ala- d -Ala content in these two species increased.

AbstractDusky wireworms, Agriotes obscurus (L.), aggregated at rows of wheat, Triticum aestivum L., spaced 1 m apart within 6 d of seeding. Wireworms also aggregated at rows of newly planted strawberries, Fragaria × ananassa Duchesne, resulting in 43% plant mortality.
