Training‐Free Regulation of Grasping by Intracortical Tactile Feedback Designed via S1‐M1 Communication

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
During object grasping in macaques, information flow between the primary sensory cortex (S1) and the primary motor cortex (M1) is modulated by tactile properties of the target. Intracortical micro‐stimulation in S1 reliably evokes M1 responses that resemble those naturally generated during grasping under specific tactile conditions.

A Human Engineered Heart Tissue‐Derived Lipotoxic Diabetic Cardiomyopathy Model Revealed Early Benefits of Empagliflozin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a human engineered heart tissue‐derived model of diabetic cardiomyopathy that accurately replicates the dynamic changes in the structural, contractile, and electrophysiological properties of the myocardium. Furthermore, this model is used to confirm the direct protective effects of empagliflozin on the heart through an SGLT2 off ...

Multi‐Region Brain Organoids Integrating Cerebral, Mid‐Hindbrain, and Endothelial Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multi‐Region Brain Organoids combine cerebral, mid/hindbrain, and endothelial components into an advanced 3D model capturing 80% of fetal brain cellular diversity. This platform reveals essential endothelial‐neural signaling networks that maintain region‐specific intermediate progenitors during hindbrain development.

Harnessing Work Function Modulation for Hydrogen Evolution Catalysis in Mesoporous Bimetallic Pt‐M Alloys: The Role of Mesopores in Work Function Optimization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents mesoporous binary Pt‐M alloy films (m‐Pt‐M, M = Pd, Rh, and Ru) with uniform porosity and tailored work functions (WFs) as an experimental study platform. The WFs of the m‐Pt‐M films exhibit a volcano‐type relationship with their HER performance.
