Evaluating the Utilities of Foundation Models in Single‐Cell Data Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study delivers the first systematic, task‐level evaluation of single‐cell foundation models across eight core analytical tasks. By benchmarking 10 leading models with the scEval framework, it reveals where foundation models truly add value, where task‐specific methods still dominate, and provides concrete, reproducible guidelines to steer the next

Granger causality in the frequency domain: derivation and applications [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ensino de Física
Physicists are starting to work in areas where noisy signal analysis is required. In these fields, such as Economics, Neuroscience, and Physics, the notion of causality should be interpreted as a statistical measure.

High frequency multiscale relationships among major cryptocurrencies: portfolio management implications

open access: yesFinancial Innovation, 2021
This paper examines the high frequency multiscale relationships and nonlinear multiscale causality between Bitcoin, Ethereum, Monero, Dash, Ripple, and Litecoin. We apply nonlinear Granger causality and rolling window wavelet correlation (RWCC) to 15 min—

Granger-Causality in Markov Switching Models [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2006
In this paper we propose a new parametrisation of transition probabilities that allows us to characterize and test Granger-causality in Markov switching models by means of an appropriate specification of the transition matrix. Test for independence are also provided. We illustrate our methodology with an empirical application.

Genetic Control of Tissue Remodeling by a Non‐Coding SNP in ITGA8 Explains Carotenoid‐Based Color Polymorphism in Marine Mollusks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, the orange‐muscle giant abalone (Haliotis gigantea) is used as a model to identify a non‐coding SNP that disrupts the interaction between ITGA8 pre‐mRNA and the splicing factor ILF2, leading to altered ITGA8 splicing. These splicing changes promote carotenoid accumulation in abalone muscle through the regulation of tissue remodeling ...

Fiber-Centered Granger Causality Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Granger causality analysis (GCA) has been well-established in the brain imaging field. However, the structural underpinnings and functional dynamics of Granger causality remain unclear. In this paper, we present fiber-centered GCA studies on resting state fMRI and natural stimulus fMRI datasets in order to elucidate the structural substrates and ...

Granger causality for state-space models [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2015
Granger causality, a popular method for determining causal influence between stochastic processes, is most commonly estimated via linear autoregressive modeling. However, this approach has a serious drawback: if the process being modeled has a moving average component, then the autoregressive model order is theoretically infinite, and in finite sample ...

Analisis Kausalitas Pertumbuhan Ekonomi terhadap Indeks Pembangunan Manusia

open access: yesFalah: Jurnal Ekonomi Syariah, 2018
Human development is one of the indicators of the success of economic growth. The good quality of human resources goes hand in hand with economic growth, this is because resources as part of the factor of production are the most valuable assets in the ...

Natural Variation of NAR5 Determines Nitrogenase Activity and the Yield in Soybean

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identified NAR5, a gene encoding a subtilisin‐like protease, that regulates nitrogenase activity in soybean nodules. Overexpressing NAR5 delayed nodule senescence, enhancing nitrogenase activity, yield, and low‐nitrogen tolerance. The elite haplotype NAR5HapI‐1 linked to superior nitrogenase activity and greater seed weight has been ...
