The cost of aging: Economic growth perspectives for Europe.
This study explores the causal relationship between the economy and the elderly population in 15 European countries. The economy was measured by the Per Capita Gross Domestic Product growth rate, while the population aged above 65 as a percentage of the ...

Testing subspace Granger causality [PDF]
Abstract The methodology of multivariate Granger non-causality testing at various horizons is extended to allow for inference on its directionality. Empirical manifestations of these subspaces are presented and useful interpretations for them are provided.

How Video‐Based Information Affects Farmers' Willingness to Pay for Drone Services
ABSTRACT Professional service for digital technology like agricultural drones lowers transaction costs and scope thresholds for smallholders. Meanwhile, perceptual adoption barriers remain underexplored. We conduct a two‐stage choice experiment with a randomized video‐based information treatment among 384 Chinese crop farmers to measure its effect on ...

Hemp Cultivation and Crop Diversification: Implications for Ecosystem Services in Kentucky
ABSTRACT This study examines the ecosystem benefits of expanding hemp cultivation by assessing its impact on crop diversity. Using scenario‐based simulations and fixed‐effect panel regressions with county‐level data in Kentucky, we find that increased hemp acreage tends to enhance crop diversity, improving water quality and bird diversity.

Testing for Spectral Granger Causality [PDF]
In this article, I introduce a command (bcgcausality) to implement Breitung and Candelon's (2006, Journal of Econometrics, 132: 363–378) Granger causality test in the frequency domain.

Swedish farmers' approval of nudges
Abstract Interest in the use of behavioral policy approaches, such as nudges, has strongly increased over the past years, including in the domains of food, agricultural and environmental policies. While the approval of nudges among the general public has been studied extensively, we know little about the attitude of farmers toward nudging. Farmers may (

Nonlinear connectivity by Granger causality
The communication among neuronal populations, reflected by transient synchronous activity, is the mechanism underlying the information processing in the brain. Although it is widely assumed that the interactions among those populations (i.e. functional connectivity) are highly nonlinear, the amount of nonlinear information transmission and its ...

Granger causality for state-space models [PDF]
Granger causality, a popular method for determining causal influence between stochastic processes, is most commonly estimated via linear autoregressive modeling. However, this approach has a serious drawback: if the process being modeled has a moving average component, then the autoregressive model order is theoretically infinite, and in finite sample ...
