The ultrastructure of granuloma annulare

Archives for Dermatological Research, 1977
Nine cases of granuloma annulare at different stages of development were investigated electron microscopically. Special attention was given to collagen changes, to the cellular infiltrate, and to vascular changes. The necrobiotic changes of the collagen were: loosening of the fibers at the borders of the bundles; swelling and loss of cross-striation of

Linear granuloma annulare

Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, 1989

TREATMENT FOR GRANULOMA ANNULARE

Archives of Dermatology, 1953
Granuloma annulare has not always responded satisfactorily to chemotherapeutic agents. Having noted as have others, that when pieces of tissue are excised for biopsy, the entire lesion, and others present, often will disappear, I considered it advisable to incise lesions (if scarring could be avoided) to note whether they would regress.

Is Actinic Granuloma Really Granuloma Annulare?

Archives of Dermatology, 1986
In 1975, O'Brien 1 described actinic granuloma and indirectly proposed criteria for diagnosis: (1) Annular, slowly enlarging plaques develop on exposed, weather-beaten skin of patients at least 30 or 40 years of age. (2) Elastotic material is present within giant cells, and the inflammation is granulomatous.
