Sensitivity of continuous emitters to solid particle obstruction [PDF]

open access: yesEngenharia Agrícola
Increasing crop productivity relies on techniques such as irrigation; however, drip irrigation systems face recurrent challenges related to dripper clogging, particularly in continuous emitters used in annual crops. Among these challenges, obstruction by

Sediment Granulometry of the Beach at the Kalasey’s Groynes

open access: yesJurnal Ilmiah PLATAX, 2021
Coastal areas have the potential to be developed and utilized for various purposes. However, the intensity of coastal use can result in the degradation of the coastal environment. Therefore, management of the coastal areas is often carried out by building shore protective structures, including groynes.

Influence of Heat Treatment Temperature on Crevice and Pitting Corrosion of UNS S32205 Duplex Stainless Steel

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Heat treatments that alter the proportions of austenite and ferrite phases or induce the precipitation of phases such as sigma in duplex stainless steel UNS S32205 make it more susceptible to pitting and crevice corrosion. However, the effects of these treatments are not always evident when analyzed using the cyclic polarization technique.

Exploratory study on characteristics of oyster shell and eggshell quality in Chile

open access: yesAustral Journal of Veterinary Sciences, 2018
This study aimed to characterise oyster shell and white egg shell quality in Chile. The work was based on samples of both oyster shell and eggs, which were sourced from 7 laying farms over a period of several weeks during the production stage.

Morphological granulometry for classification of evolving and ordered texture images. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this work we investigate the use of morphological granulometric moments as texture descriptors to predict time or class of texture images which evolve over time or follow an intrinsic ordering of textures.

Reducing the use of Fossil Carbon and Fuels to Defossilize the Electric Steelmaking Route: Evaluation of the Effects of Alternative C‐Bearing Materials and Hydrogen in the Electric Arc Furnace

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
The experiments and simulations demonstrate that, in general, alternative carbon sources can decrease fossil CO2 without adversely impacting EAF process and product. High plastics and tires ratios cause unsafe conditions and poor slag foaming. Hydrogen in EAF burners decreases CO2 but increases water vapor, which can raise the hydrogen content in ...

Can ZooMS Help Assess Species Abundance in Highly Fragmented Bone Assemblages? Integrating Morphological and Proteomic Identifications for the Calculation of an Adjusted ZooMS-eNISP

open access: yesPaleoAnthropology
Zooarchaeology by Mass Spectrometry (ZooMS) is a rapid, low-cost, collagen-based method for the taxonomic identification of animal tissues. It is now increasingly applied to bone fragments from archaeological contexts, creating large taxonomic datasets ...

Long lasting instabilities in granular mixtures

open access: yes, 2003
We have performed experiments of axial segregation in the Oyama's drum. We have tested binary granular mixtures during very long times. The segregation patterns have been captured by a CCD camera and spatio-temporal graphs are created.

High temperature annealing of micrometric Zn2SiO4:Mn phosphor powders in fluidized bed [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Micrometric Zn1.8Mn0.2SiO4 phosphor powders prepared by spray pyrolysis have been annealed between 900 and 1200°C under ambient air atmosphere to exalt their luminescence properties. Two original gas-solid fluidization processes have been tested in order

Portable, Benchtop and Micro‐XRF in Agriculture—Present and Future From the Hardware Perspective

open access: yesX-Ray Spectrometry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT X‐ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometry has been an important tool in agricultural studies recently. This technique allows the multielemental, direct, and in situ analysis. The objective of this review is to evaluate the use of XRF in agriculture focusing on plant and soil samples based on indexed articles in the Scopus database from 2020 to ...
