ABSTRACT This study aimed to elucidate the relationship between morphological and mechanical characteristics of the free Achilles tendon (ATFree) in vivo. The morphological features were characterized in terms of overall dimensions (length and cross‐sectional area) and internal fascicular organization (longitudinal alignment and transverse structure ...

Overview of grapevine trunk diseases in France in the 2000s
The National Grapevine Trunk Disease Survey was conducted in France from 2003 to 2008 to monitor grapevine trunk diseases (GTDs), eutypa dieback and esca/black dead arm (BDA). Data collected from seven regions, 329 vineyards and 12 cultivars were analysed. There were great variations amongst regions in the incidence of GTDs.

Health or disease – a question of rhizomicrobial ecology? The case of grapevine trunk disease
Summary Aims The incidence of the apoplectic breakdown associated with grapevine trunk diseases (GTDs) is promoted by climate change, which has become a challenge for viticulture worldwide. Outbreak of these conditional diseases is expected to depend on the rhizomicrobiome.

Role of basidiomycete fungi in the grapevine trunk disease esca
Phaeomoniella chlamydospora and wood‐rotting basidiomycete fungi, namely Fomitiporia spp., are known esca pathogens. However, the effect of their mixed infections and the sequence of infection on disease development is unclear.
