BPGM: A Big Graph Mining Tool

open access: yesTsinghua Science and Technology, 2014
The design and implementation of a scalable parallel mining system target for big graph analysis has proven to be challenging. In this study, we propose a parallel data mining system for analyzing big graph data generated on a Bulk Synchronous Parallel ...

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Centdian Computation in Cactus Graphs

open access: yesJournal of Graph Algorithms and Applications, 2012
Summary: This paper focuses on the centdian problem in a cactus network where a cactus network is a connected undirected graph, and any two simple cycles in the graph have at most one node in common. The cactus network has important applications for wireless sensor networks when a tree topology might not be applicable and for extensions to the ring ...

Golgi enzymes are retrieved from the plasma membrane to the trans‐Golgi network

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Golgi enzymes are traditionally considered resident proteins retained within the Golgi apparatus. Here, we demonstrate that a subset transiently reaches the cell surface and is subsequently retrieved to the trans‐Golgi network via retrograde transport. Using a nanobody‐based toolkit, we uncover a dynamic trafficking cycle of several Golgi enzymes.

Incremental Graph Computations [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2017 ACM International Conference on Management of Data, 2017
The incremental problem for a class Q of graph queries aims to compute, given a query Q in 'Q, graph G, output Q(G) and updates Δ G to G as input, changes Δ O to Q(G) such that Q(G ⊕ Δ G) = Q(G) ⊕ Δ O. It is called bounded if its cost can be expressed as a polynomial function in the sizes of Q, Δ G and Δ O.

Emerging experimental and computational methods for studying redox‐regulated structural transitions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Redox reactions can reshape proteins and alter how they behave in cells, with important consequences for health and disease. This review explores emerging experimental and computational approaches for discovering these redox‐sensitive protein switches, revealing their structural effects, and predicting their behavior, opening new opportunities to ...

Review of the Application of Graph Database and Graph Computing in Power System Dispatch and Operation

open access: yesZhongguo dianli
As the widespread integration of new energy and interconnection of large power grids, the operation modes of power systems are undergoing transformations, which leads to a fast surge in data volumes and higher demands for real-time information processing,

Transforming graph states via Bell state measurements [PDF]

open access: yesQuantum
Graph states are key resources for measurement-based quantum computing, which is particularly promising for photonic systems. Fusions are probabilistic Bell state measurements, measuring pairs of parity operators of two qubits.

Translophagy—A potential link between autophagy impairment and translational errors

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neurodegenerative diseases are characterised by the accumulation of abnormal proteins and protein aggregates, but their origin often remains unknown. We propose that selective autophagy removes damaged protein‐making machinery, preventing errors during protein synthesis.
