Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Invariant embedding for graph classification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Design of a graph embedding invariant by node permutation for a graph classification task.International audienceLearning on graphs requires a graph feature representation able to discriminate among different graphs while being amenable to fast ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

The Ceresa class and tropical curves of hyperelliptic type

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma
We define a new algebraic invariant of a graph G called the Ceresa–Zharkov class and show that it is trivial if and only if G is of hyperelliptic type, equivalently, G does not have as a minor the complete graph on four vertices or the loop of three ...

Group-invariant Percolation on Graphs [PDF]

open access: yesGeometric And Functional Analysis, 1999
For a closed group \(G\) of automorphisms of a graph \(X\), geometric properties such as amenability or unimodularity are related to \(G\)-invariant percolation processes. Origins of the problem may be situated in Kesten's theorem [\textit{H. Kesten}, Trans. Am. Math. Soc.

Convolution operators and the discrete Laplacian [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
PhDIn this thesis, we obtain new results for convolution operators on homogeneous spaces and give applications to the Laplacian on a homogeneous graph. Some of these results have been published in joint papers [13, 14] with my supervisor.

Cross-View Graph Consistency Learning for Invariant Graph Representations [PDF]

open access: yes
Graph representation learning is fundamental for analyzing graph-structured data. Exploring invariant graph representations remains a challenge for most existing graph representation learning methods.

A Correlation Approach for Automatic Image Annotation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The automatic annotation of images presents a particularly complex problem for machine learning researchers. In this work we experiment with semantic models and multi-class learning for the automatic annotation of query images.

Biophysical approaches for studying viral entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Viruses infect all living organisms and have been responsible for major epidemics and pandemics. Their ongoing evolutionary battle with host defenses creates a constant need for improved tools to study viral behavior. Advancing methods to probe viral attachment, fusion, and genome release deepen our understanding of how infections begin and support the
