Extending the hyper‐logistic model to the random setting: New theoretical results with real‐world applications

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
We develop a full randomization of the classical hyper‐logistic growth model by obtaining closed‐form expressions for relevant quantities of interest, such as the first probability density function of its solution, the time until a given fixed population is reached, and the population at the inflection point.

Investigating Tuberculosis Dynamics Under Various Control Strategies: A Comprehensive Analysis Using Real Statistical Data

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In the present investigation, a mathematical model with vaccination, treatment, and environmental impact under real data is presented. Initially, we present the model without any interventions, followed by an examination of its equilibrium points.

Analytical and Numerical Soliton Solutions of the Shynaray II‐A Equation Using the G′G,1G$$ \left(\frac{G^{\prime }}{G},\frac{1}{G}\right) $$‐Expansion Method and Regularization‐Based Neural Networks

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Nonlinear differential equations play a fundamental role in modeling complex physical phenomena across solid‐state physics, hydrodynamics, plasma physics, nonlinear optics, and biological systems. This study focuses on the Shynaray II‐A equation, a relatively less‐explored parametric nonlinear partial differential equation that describes ...

Assessment of Sensitivity and Specificity of Common Sensory Tests in Diagnosing Digital Nerve Lacerations

open access: yesMuscle &Nerve, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction/Aims Digital nerve lacerations are common. Current methods employed to differentiate intact and transected digital nerves lack diagnostic accuracy. This may result in patients with intact nerves undergoing unnecessary surgery. The objective of the study was to determine the best diagnostic method for detecting true sensory nerve ...

Tractable but Hard to Approximate: The Bi‐Objective Minimum s$$ s $$‐t$$ t $$‐Cut Problem With Binary Capacities

open access: yesNetworks, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The minimum s$$ s $$‐t$$ t $$‐cut problem is one of the most‐studied problems in discrete optimization and has a unique complexity status in multi‐objective optimization. Even though the single‐objective version of the problem can be solved in polynomial time, it has been shown in the seminal work of Papadimitriou and Yannakakis (2000) that ...
