Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

A DNA Computing Model for the Graph Vertex Coloring Problem Based on a Probe Graph

open access: yesEngineering, 2018
The biggest bottleneck in DNA computing is exponential explosion, in which the DNA molecules used as data in information processing grow exponentially with an increase of problem size.

Breaking Symmetries in Graph Representation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
There are many complex combinatorial problems which involve searching for an undirected graph satisfying a certain property. These problems are often highly challenging because of the large number of isomorphic representations of a possible solution.

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

In a World That Counts: Clustering and Detecting Fake Social Engagement at Scale

open access: yes, 2016
How can web services that depend on user generated content discern fake social engagement activities by spammers from legitimate ones? In this paper, we focus on the social site of YouTube and the problem of identifying bad actors posting inorganic ...

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

A Novel Global Prototype-Based Node Embedding Technique

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
Node embedding refers to learning or generating low-dimensional representations for nodes in a given graph. In the era of big data and large graphs, there has been a growing interest in node embedding across a wide range of applications, ranging from ...

Contraction Obstructions for Connected Graph Searching [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We consider the connected variant of the classic mixed search game where, in each search step, cleaned edges form a connected subgraph. We consider graph classes with bounded connected (and monotone) mixed search number and we deal with the question ...

Searching for rewards in graph-structured spaces

open access: yes, 2019
How do people generalize and explore structured spaces? We study human behavior on a multi-armed bandit task, where rewards are influenced by the connectivity structure of a graph.
