FLASH: Randomized Algorithms Accelerated over CPU-GPU for Ultra-High Dimensional Similarity Search

open access: yes, 2018
We present FLASH (\textbf{F}ast \textbf{L}SH \textbf{A}lgorithm for \textbf{S}imilarity search accelerated with \textbf{H}PC), a similarity search system for ultra-high dimensional datasets on a single machine, that does not require similarity ...

GraphMatch: Efficient Large-Scale Graph Construction for Structure from Motion

open access: yes, 2017
We present GraphMatch, an approximate yet efficient method for building the matching graph for large-scale structure-from-motion (SfM) pipelines. Unlike modern SfM pipelines that use vocabulary (Voc.) trees to quickly build the matching graph and avoid a

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

HGED: A Hybrid Search Algorithm for Efficient Parallel Graph Edit Distance Computation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Graph edit distance (GED) is a measure for quantifying the similarity between two graphs. Because of its flexibility and versatility, GED is widely used in many real applications. However, the main disadvantage of GED is its high computational cost. Many

Soft Seeded SSL Graphs for Unsupervised Semantic Similarity-based Retrieval

open access: yes, 2017
Semantic similarity based retrieval is playing an increasingly important role in many IR systems such as modern web search, question-answering, similar document retrieval etc. Improvements in retrieval of semantically similar content are very significant
