Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

A Topologically-informed Hyperstreamline Seeding Method for Alignment Tensor Fields

open access: yes, 2014
A topologically-informed method is presented for seeding of hyperstreamlines for visualization of alignment tensor fields. The method is inspired by and applied to visualization of nematic liquid crystal (LC) reorientation dynamics simulations.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Spherical Layout for 3D Graph Visualization

open access: yesJournal of Computer Science and Technology, 2007
The goal of this work was centered in the graph visualization. The hope is that the extra dimension would give, literally, more space, and that this would ease the problem of displaying large structures.

Enhancing Urban Data Analysis: Leveraging Graph-Based Convolutional Neural Networks for a Visual Semantic Decision Support System

open access: yesSensors
The persistent increase in the magnitude of urban data, combined with the broad range of sensors from which it derives in modern urban environments, poses issues including data integration, visualization, and optimal utilization. The successful selection

Summary and Evaluation of the Application of Knowledge Graphs in Education 2007–2020

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2021
Since 2007, knowledge graphs, an important research tool, have been applied to education and many other disciplines. This paper firstly overviews the application of knowledge graphs in education and then samples the knowledge graph applications in CSSCI-

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

A topology-preserving dimensionality reduction method for single-cell RNA-seq data using graph autoencoder

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Dimensionality reduction is crucial for the visualization and interpretation of the high-dimensional single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) data. However, preserving topological structure among cells to low dimensional space remains a challenge. Here, we

A Regularized Graph Layout Framework for Dynamic Network Visualization

open access: yes, 2013
Many real-world networks, including social and information networks, are dynamic structures that evolve over time. Such dynamic networks are typically visualized using a sequence of static graph layouts.
