Current‐voltage model of a graphene nanoribbon p‐n junction and Schottky junction diode

open access: yesIET Circuits, Devices &Systems, Volume 16, Issue 2, Page 157-168, March 2022., 2022
Abstract This work presents a simplified analytical model of a p‐n junction diode based on a graphene nanoribbon (GNR) and a unique type of Schottky diode based on metallic graphene and semi‐conducting GNRs. Due to the one‐dimensional nature of GNRs, their electrostatic analyses need to be quite different from that of bulk devices.

Metal-Insulator Transition from Graphene to Graphane

open access: yesNanomaterials and Nanotechnology, 2013
Graphane is obtained by perfectly hydrogenating graphene. There exists an intermediate material, partially hydrogenated graphene (which we call hydrographene), interpolating from pure graphene to pure graphane.

The response of mechanical and electronic properties of graphane to the elastic strain [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Based on first-principles calculations, we resent a method to reveal the elastic properties of recently synthesized monolayer hydrocarbon, graphane. The in-plane stiffness and Poisson's ratio values are found to be smaller than those of graphene, and its

Dimensionality effects in high‐performance thermoelectric materials: Computational and experimental progress in energy harvesting applications

open access: yesWIREs Computational Molecular Science, Volume 12, Issue 1, January/February 2022., 2022
Various strategies/techniques for improving performance of thermoelectric (TE) materials and their applications in various fields. Abstract Thermoelectric (TE) materials can be used in the conversion of heat to electricity and vice versa, which can enhance the efficiency of the fuel, in addition to supplying solid alternative energy in several ...

Influence of Size Effect on the Electronic and Elastic Properties of Graphane Nanoflakes: Quantum Chemical and Empirical Investigations

open access: yesAdvances in Condensed Matter Physics, 2015
By application of empirical method it is found that graphene nanoflake (graphane) saturated by hydrogen is not elastic material. In this case, the modulus of the elastic compression of graphane depends on its size, allowing us to identify the linear ...

2D (< 10 nm) sp3-C-rich carbon materials, possibly hydrogenated: A review

open access: yesCarbon Trends, 2022
While graphene has held the center stage in nanocarbon material research since its isolation in 2004, less attention has been paid to nanometer-thick carbon films in which at least part of the carbon atoms are sp3-hybridized, whatever the ...

High-pressure hydrogenation of graphene: towards graphane [PDF]

open access: yesNanoscale, 2012
The conversion of graphene to graphane is of high importance from a technological and scientific point of view. We present here a scalable method for the hydrogenation of graphene based on thermal exfoliation of graphite oxide in a hydrogen atmosphere under high pressure (60-150 bar) and temperature (200-500 °C).

Moiré-Induced Enhanced Hydrogen Adsorption on Graphene. [PDF]

open access: yesSmall
Moiré superstructures locally modulate the reactivity of graphene toward chemical functionalization. However, a quantitative characterization of this effect at the subnanometer scale constitutes a challenge. Using atomic hydrogen as a probe for local reactivity permits the analysis of how the moiré‐induced corrugation correlates with an enhanced ...

Dielectric screening in two-dimensional insulators: Implications for excitonic and impurity states in graphane [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
For atomic thin layer insulating materials we provide an exact analytic form of the two-dimensional screened potential. In contrast to three-dimensional systems where the macroscopic screening can be described by a static dielectric constant in 2D ...
