Nitrogen Dioxide Sensing Using Multilayer Structure of Reduced Graphene Oxide and α-Fe2O3
Multilayers consisting of graphene oxide (GO) and α-Fe2O3 thin layers were deposited on the ceramic substrates by the spray LbL (layer by layer) coating technique. Graphene oxide was prepared from graphite using the modified Hummers method.

Coloring Graphs with Forbidden Minors
Hadwiger's conjecture from 1943 states that for every integer $t\ge1$, every graph either can be $t$-colored or has a subgraph that can be contracted to the complete graph on $t+1$ vertices. As pointed out by Paul Seymour in his recent survey on Hadwiger'

Crumpling Damaged Graphene [PDF]
AbstractThrough molecular mechanics we find that non-covalent interactions modify the fractality of crumpled damaged graphene. Pristine graphene membranes are damaged by adding random vacancies and carbon-hydrogen bonds. Crumpled membranes exhibit a fractal dimension of 2.71 ± 0.02 when all interactions between carbon atoms are considered and 2.30 ± 0 ...

Sind i‐Motiv‐Strukturen in DNA kompatibel mit Cytosin–Ag(I)–Cytosin‐Basenpaaren?

Layered patterns in nature, medicine, and materials: quantifying anisotropic structures and cyclicity [PDF]
Various natural patterns—such as terrestrial sand dune ripples, lamellae in vertebrate bones, growth increments in fish scales and corals, aortas and lamellar corpuscles in humans and animals—comprise layers of different thicknesses and lengths ...

Water-Gated Charge Doping of Graphene Induced by Mica Substrates
We report on the existence of water-gated charge doping of graphene deposited on atomically flat mica substrates. Molecular films of water in units of ~0.4 nm-thick bilayers were found to be present in regions of the interface of graphene/mica hetero ...

Graphene and graphene oxide for desalination
There is a huge scope for graphene-based materials to be used as membranes for desalination. A very recent study has confirmed that 100% salt rejection can be achieved for commonly used ions by utilizing single layer nonporous graphene. However, the cost effective fabrication procedure for graphene oxide membranes with precise control of pore size can ...
