Fabrication, characterization and electrochemical behavior of δ-MnO2 nanoflakes

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng, 2019
Two types of ultrathin-flaky δ-MnO2 electrode materials (denoted as δ-MnO2-A and δ-MnO2-B) were synthesized through the reduction of potassium permanganate with manganese acetate and ethanol separately. The crystalline structure, chemical component ...

Direct Ink Writing of Conductive Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines the use of direct ink writing (DIW) for fabricating conductive hydrogels with customizable 3D structures. It outlines the rheological requirements for successful DIW, followed by an exploration of the materials and ink formulations used to impart electronic and/or ionic conductivity to hydrogels while maintaining printability ...

Recent Advances in Enzyme‐based Biofuel Cells Using Glucose Fuel: Achieving High Power Output and Enhanced Operational Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Effective electron transfer and stable enzyme immobilization, both between enzymes and host electrodes as well as between adjacent enzymes, are crucial for optimizing the biofuel cell (BFC) performance. Recently, efforts have focused on integrating these strategies with porous host electrodes.

Magnetic Field‐Assisted Conductive Nerve Guidance Conduit Enabling Peripheral Nerve Regeneration with Wireless Electrical Stimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a conductive nerve guidance conduit integrated with wireless electrical stimulation through alternating magnetic fields, which induces currents and creates a supportive microenvironment for nerve regeneration. In vivo studies show that this approach significantly enhanced myelin restoration, gastrocnemius muscle regeneration ...

Partially oxidized graphene as a precursor to graphene

open access: yesJournal of Materials Chemistry, 2011
Solution exfoliation of graphite holds promise for large-scale bulk synthesis of graphene. Non-covalent exfoliation is attractive because the electronic structure of graphene is preserved but the yield is low and the lateral dimensions of the sheets are small. Chemical exfoliation via formation of graphite oxide is a highly versatile and scalable route

Conducting Polymer Microelectrode Arrays for Simultaneous Electrophysiology and Advanced Brain Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A flexible micro‐electrocorticography array with PEDOT:SS electrodes is shown to be compatible with ultra‐high magnetic field MRI up to 9.4 T. Multimodal brain monitoring is demonstrated by performing simultaneous blood oxygen level‐dependent functional MRI in parallel with electrophysiology.

Drastic Minimization in the van der Waals Interaction with the Bottom Epitaxial Graphene Layer by the Diels-Alder Surface Chemistry of the Top Graphene Layer [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
The Diels-Alder surface modified top epitaxial graphene layer, with newly created pair of sp3 carbon centres, results in abrupt minimization of interlayer van der Waals interactions between two stacked graphene planes, and escapes the wafer during post-reaction manipulation stage, leaving the layer under it almost pristine-like.
