Graphical representation in graphical dialogue

International Journal of Human-Computer Studies, 2002
Abstract This paper explores the influence of communicative interaction on the form of graphical representations. A referential communication task is described which involves exclusively graphical dialogue. In this task subjects communicate about pieces of music by drawing.

A Graphical Representation of Matroids

SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 1973
A base graph of a matroid is the graph whose points are the bases of the matroid. Two bases are adjacent if they differ by exactly one element. A definition of equivalence of matroids is given and it is shown that two matroids are equivalent if and only if their base graphs are isomorphic.

Graphic representation of pain

Pain, 1976
Abstract Of the different types of visual analogue and graphic rating scales tested in a series of experiments, only two were satisfactory: these were the visual analogue scale and the graphic rating scales used horizontally with the words spread out along the whole length of the line.

A graphical representation for network management

[1989] Proceedings. 14th Conference on Local Computer Networks, 2003
A serious problem in network management is the manner in which data is presented, as it is difficult to visualize a network by examining tabular data output. It is shown by examples that by presenting computer network data in graphical form instead of numerical, the network manager will be able to discover problems in the network much faster and more ...

On Graphical Representations

1991
In order to provide reasonable notations for dependency relations we summarize firstly some results on graph theory. The study of hypergraphs leads to the consideration of dependency networks, which form a very powerful tool for analyzing qualitative aspects of knowledge representation.

A Graphical Representation of Boolean Logic

2014
A new graphical representation/model of Boolean logic is presented. We use horizontal and vertical lines to represent the logical constants, serial and parallel circuits for conjunction and disjunction. For negation of a (sub)formula, we use a turn of the circuit by \(\frac{\pi}{2}\). A web-based system that is built on the model is also presented.

Graphical representation of pseudorandom sequences

Computers & Graphics, 1989
Abstract This note describes a simple application of a chaos-analysis technique to expose the non-randomness of the BASIC random number generator. Other potential applications for this technique are also mentioned.

A graphic representation of projection accuracy

European Journal of Population, 1989
The author examines "the problem of measuring projection accuracy. Experience with applying the accuracy measure 'quality of prediction', as proposed by Keyfitz, leads the author to a critical evaluation and elaboration of this accuracy measure. Time series of prediction quality values may show a remarkable temporal instability, partly depending on ...
