Trans‐Conductive Melt Pool Scaling and its Implications for Parameter Transfer in Laser Powder Bed Fusion for Metals with High Thermal Diffusivity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Developing process parameters for the laser‐based Powder Bed Fusion of metals can be a tedious task. Based on melt pool depth, the process parameters are transferable to different laser scan speeds. For this, understanding the melt pool scaling behavior is essential, particularly for materials with high thermal diffusivity, as a change in scaling ...

Beyond Global Mechanical Properties: Bioinspired Triply‐Periodic Minimal Surface Cellular Solids for Efficient Mechanical Design and Optimization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Using novel probe‐based metrics, this study evaluates lattice structures on criteria critical to cellular solid optimization. Triply‐periodic minimal surface (TPMS) lattices outperform other lattices, offering more predictable mechanical behavior in complex design spaces and, as a result, higher performance in optimized models.

Unified Graphical Model of High-Frequency Signal Injection Methods for PMSM Sensorless Control

IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2020
High-frequency (HF) signal injection methods have proved to be good candidates for permanent magnet synchronous motor sensorless control at zero or low speed.

Neural Probabilistic Graphical Model for Face Sketch Synthesis

IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, 2020
Neural network learning for face sketch synthesis from photos has attracted substantial attention due to its favorable synthesis performance. However, most existing deep-learning-based face sketch synthesis models stacked only by multiple convolutional ...

TABOR: A Graphical Model-based Approach for Anomaly Detection in Industrial Control Systems

ACM Asia Conference on Computer and Communications Security, 2018
Industrial Control Systems (ICS) such as water and power are critical to any society. Process anomaly detection mechanisms have been proposed to protect such systems to minimize the risk of damage or loss of resources.

A Directed Sparse Graphical Model for Multi-target Tracking

2018 IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Workshops (CVPRW), 2018
We propose a Directed Sparse Graphical Model (DSGM) for multi-target tracking. In the category of global optimization for multi-target tracking, traditional approaches have two main drawbacks.

Model selection and estimation in the Gaussian graphical model

, 2007
We propose penalized likelihood methods for estimating the concentration matrix in the Gaussian graphical model. The methods lead to a sparse and shrinkage estimator of the concentration matrix that is positive definite, and thus conduct model selection ...

A Gaussian graphical model approach to climate networks.

Chaos, 2014
Distinguishing between direct and indirect connections is essential when interpreting network structures in terms of dynamical interactions and stability. When constructing networks from climate data the nodes are usually defined on a spatial grid.

Mathematical Models of Graphics

Computer Graphics and Image Processing, 1980
Publisher Summary This chapter reviews some mathematical models for graphics as data sources and the interplay between these models and coding schemes. Graphics include the following three classes of images: (1) images that are nominally two tone, (2) binary images derived from continuous-tone images, (3) and binary images created in some continuous ...
