Models in Graphical User Interface Testing: Study Design [PDF]
Model-based GUI testing is an important concept in Software GUI testing. Manual testing is a time-consuming labor and heavily error-prone. It has several well-accepted models that Software Testing community has been working and contributing to them for many years.

SummaryCovering all the possible paths of the graphical user interface (GUI) with test scripts would take too much effort and result in serious maintenance issues. We propose complementing scripted testing with scriptless test automation using the open‐source testar tool.

Comparison of Graphical User Interface Testing Tools
Graphical User Interface or better known as the user interface is the liaison of users with electronic devices such as computers. The Graphical User Interface uses icons, menus, and some other visual indicators to represent the information contained in the interface of the application being used.

Input Contract Testing of Graphical User Interfaces [PDF]
User inputs are critical for the security, safety, and reliability of software systems. This paper proposes a new concept called user input contracts, which is an integral part of a design-by-contract supplemented development process, and a model-based testing approach to detect violations of user input contracts.

Model-Based Contract Testing of Graphical User Interfaces
Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) are critical for the security, safety and reliability of software systems. Injection attacks, for instance via SQL, succeed due to insufficient input validation and can be avoided if contract-based approaches, such as Design by Contract, are followed in the software development lifecycle of GUIs.

Advances in Model-Based Testing of Graphical User Interfaces [PDF]
Graphical user interfaces (GUIs) enable comfortable interactions of the computer-based systems with their environment. Large systems usually require complex GUIs, which are commonly fault prone and thus are to be carefully designed, implemented, and tested.

Testing and maintenance of graphical user interfaces

Dynamically Testing Graphical User Interfaces
Software test generation for GUIs is a hard problem. The goal of this thesis is to investigate different methods for dynamically generating tests for GUIs. We introduce the concept of an event-pair graph, which is used to represent and measure test suites, and show how it can be used to generate tests and measure GUI coverage.

EventFlowSlicer: goal based test generation for graphical user interfaces [PDF]
Automated test generation techniques for graphical user interfaces include model-based approaches that generate tests from a graph or state machine model, capture-replay methods that require the user to demonstrate each test case, and pattern-based approaches that provide templates for abstract test cases.
