Automated Graphical User Interface Regression Testing
2013Regression testing is performed after software modification to find out the correctness and quality of any software product. The modification is either corrective or adaptive. Normally in regression testing, we have to rerun the existing test cases or test scripts on the modified product.

Rule-Based Exploratory Testing of Graphical User Interfaces
2011 AGILE Conference, 2011This paper introduces rule-based exploratory testing, an approach to GUI testing that combines aspects of manual exploratory testing with rule-based test automation. This approach uses short, automated rules to increase the bug-detection capability of recorded exploratory test sessions.

Graphical User Interface Testing Optimization for Water Monitoring Applications
2013 19th International Conference on Control Systems and Computer Science, 2013In geospatial applications water monitoring has become a major topic of interest (in the last decades), since the raise of global concerns about climate changes and pollution in general. The number of parameters that need monitoring in a watershed is significant and the variety of sensors is also very important.

Analysis of Specificity of Testing the Graphic User Interface

Abandoning Proprietary Test Tools for Graphical User Interface Verification
Testing: Academic & Industrial Conference - Practice and Research Techniques (taic part 2008), 2008Graphical user interfaces have become an expected, and often desired, interface providing access to the functionality of a given piece of software. It is therefore necessary to place the interface through a series of verification and validation processes.

GUIdiff -- A Regression Testing Tool for Graphical User Interfaces
2013 IEEE Sixth International Conference on Software Testing, Verification and Validation, 2013Due to the rise of tablets and smart phones and their impact on everyday life, robust and high-quality Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) are becoming more and more important. Unfortunately, testing these GUIs still remains a big challenge with the current industrial tools, which only cater to manual testing practices and provide limited oracle ...

Finite state testing and analysis of graphical user interfaces
Proceedings 12th International Symposium on Software Reliability Engineering, 2005Based on finite-state automata (FSA) and equivalent regular expressions, the paper introduces a holistic view of fault modeling that can be carried out as a complementary step to system modeling, revealing much rationalization potential. Appropriate formal notions will be used to introduce efficient algorithms to systematically generate and select test

How to Test the Intangible Properties of Graphical User Interfaces?
2008 International Conference on Software Testing, Verification, and Validation, 2008In this paper we describe our experience from developing and testing a visual graphical user interface (GUI) editor for mobile and multimedia devices. Testing of the editor's highly interactive user interface is critical for its success, yet remains a challenge due to the specification of often intangible quality characteristics of the GUI and its ...

Development and maintenance efforts testing graphical user interfaces: a comparison
Proceedings of the 7th International Workshop on Automating Test Case Design, Selection, and Evaluation, 2016For testing of graphical user interfaces many tools exists. The aim of this work is a statement regarding the advantages and disadvantages of various testing tools with regard to their use in the economic context to be taken. It is compared, inter alia, whether there are differences in the generations of test tools in terms of finding defects and which

Automated regression testing of graphical user interface based applications
Proceedings of the Twenty-Fourth Annual Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, 2002Summary form only given. This paper discusses the requirements of automating regression testing applications with a graphical user interface. In particular, this paper discusses a regression test facility developed for the X Window System. The facility is composed of two parts called the Input Synthesis Extension and the Client Exerciser tool.
