Electron-phonon interaction in Graphite Intercalation Compounds

open access: yes, 2007
Motivated by the recent discovery of superconductivity in Ca- and Yb-intercalated graphite (CaC$_{6}$ and YbC$_{6}$) and from the ongoing debate on the nature and role of the interlayer state in this class of compounds, in this work we critically study ...

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Application of chlorination technology for the conversion of natural flake graphite into coated spherical purified graphite for Li-ion batteries

open access: yesCarbon Trends
The growing demand for lithium-ion batteries (LiBs) has intensified the need for high-purity graphite anodes. Natural flake graphite (NFG) offers a cost-effective and environmentally favorable alternative to synthetic graphite but requires extensive ...

Highly Sensitive Electrochemical Biosensor Based on Hairy Particles with Controllable High Enzyme Loading and Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
For the first time, a highly sensitive electrochemical biosensor based on SiO2‐based hairy particles with a grafted PDMAEMA polymer brush containing a quantifiable and large amount of immobilized Laccase is reported. The fabricated biosensor exhibits a sensitivity of 0.14 A·m⁻¹, a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.1 µm, and a detection range of 0.3–750 µm,
