Anchored growth of highly dispersed LDHs nanosheets on expanded graphite for fluoride adsorption properties and mechanism.

Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2022
In this study, a new composite with layered double hydroxides (LDHs) anchored grown on expanded graphite (EG) interlayers was prepared by vacuum-assisted intercalation and hydrothermal method.

Fluoride/fluoride and fluoride/sulfuric acid graphite bi-intercalation compounds

Synthetic Metals, 1989
Abstract Stage-2 GICs with VF 6 and TiF 6 are used as host structures for the intercalation of other more volatile fluorides such as SbF 5 , AsF 5 and WF y or of sulfuric acid. This leads to new graphite bi-intercalation compounds (GBCs) having a good regular stacking along the c-axis.

Electronic structure of graphite fluorides

Physics Letters A, 2001
Abstract Results of X-ray fluorescent measurements of carbon–fluorine compounds are presented. We have measured carbon and fluorine K α X-ray emission spectra (2 p →1 s transition) of graphite fluorides ( CF ) n and ( C 2 F ) n . We found that carbon atoms are of the sp 3 type and covalently bound to fluorine.

Electrochemical Introduction/Extraction of Fluoride Ions into/from Graphene-like Graphite for Positive Electrode Materials of Fluoride-Ion Shuttle Batteries.

ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, 2022
A cathode material, graphene-like graphite, was developed for all-solid-state-type fluoride-ion shuttle batteries (FSBs). Fluoride ions were electrochemically introduced/extracted into/from it, and covalent C-F bonds were formed upon electrochemical ...

Intercalation chemistry of graphite fluorides

Journal of Fluorine Chemistry, 1992
Abstract Graphite fluorides of the general composition CFn, with n  0.25−1.0, are found, according to X-ray diffraction and X-ray photoelectron studies, to contain graphitic zones which allow oxidative intercalation by bis(fluorosulfuryl)peroxide, S2O6F2, as well as intercalation by fluorosulfuric acid HSO3F and trifluoromethylsulfuric acid HSO3CF3.

Microwave-assisted liquid phase exfoliation of graphite fluoride into fluorographene

Chemical Engineering Journal, 2019
Fluorographene (FG), as an important class of graphene derivatives, has shown great promise in high-performance devices and lubricating materials. However, the large-scale fabrication of high-quality and impurity-free FG nanosheets still remains a main ...

Electrochemical effect of graphite fluoride modification on Li-rich cathode material in lithium ion battery

Ceramics International, 2019
Recently, Li-rich layered structure has been used in the cathode of lithium ion batteries because of its high specific capacity. However, this structure still has some problems including large irreversible capacity loss, significant deterioration of ...

Unveiling the Influence of Dehydrofluorination of Poly(vinylidene fluoride) Binder on the Failure of Graphite Anode in Potassium-ion Batteries.

Angewandte Chemie
The poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) binder has been successfully employed in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), but it unexpectedly exhibits detrimental effects on the anode performance in potassium-ion batteries (PIBs).
