On the Structure of Graphite Fluoride
Zeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, 1987AbstractThe structure of graphite fluoride, (C2F)n has been investigated by X‐ray analyses, solid state 19F‐n.m.r., and electron microscopy for well characterized and crystallized samples obtained from natural graphite or HOPG (highly oriented pyrolytic graphite). On the basis of the present results and structural properties derived from previous works,

Codeposited Composite Metal-Graphite Fluoride Platings
A S L E Transactions, 1974A study has been made of lubricating properties of some codeposited composites of metal-graphite fluoride platings. Copper was found to be a better matrix of the plating than nickel, with respect to the lubricating properties. Sufficient contents of solid lubricants in matrices were necessary to improve the wear rate of composites.

Soluble graphene derived from graphite fluoride
Chemical Physics Letters, 2007Abstract Soluble graphene layers were formed by reacting graphite fluoride with alkyl lithium reagents. IR spectral studies confirmed the covalent attachment of alkyl chains to the graphene layers. Raman scattering and XRD studies of the starting materials and products revealed that the chemical process partially restores the sp2 carbon network.

NMR and NEXAFS Study of Various Graphite Fluorides
The Journal of Physical Chemistry C, 2013Graphite fluorides with different structural types (CyF)n (y = 2.5, 2, and 1) and room temperature graphite fluorides were studied by solid state NMR and NEXAFS. Data extracted from those two techniques are complementary, providing information about the C-F bonding and the hybridization character of the carbon atom valence states.

ESR study of graphite-fluorine and graphite-fluoride acceptor intercalation compounds
Synthetic Metals, 1983Abstract We report an in situ ESR study of the graphite-fluorine system as well as of the graphite-fluoride acceptor intercalation compounds C:PF5:F2, C:GeF4:F2, C:AsF5, C:SbF5, C:IF5:F2, etc., with emphasis on the ESR line-shape (A/B ratio) and linewidth.
