Identification and Occurrence of the Dominant Parasitic Wasp Therophilus festivus of Larval Grapholita molesta

open access: yesAgronomy
The oriental fruit moth, Grapholita molesta, is one of the most destructive orchard pests worldwide. Due to its behavior of boring into twigs and fruits, controlling the pest at the larval stage using insecticides is challenging.

Induced allopatry as main mechanism explaining trap catch reduction in low dose mating disruption trials on the strawberry pest Acleris comariana (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae)

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 9, Page 5224-5233, September 2025.
This study evaluated pheromone‐based mating disruption of the strawberry pest Acleris comariana (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae). In treated crop areas males were more attracted to the dispensers than to the trap lures and aggregated near such dispensers, explaining the low catches in traps in these areas as an effect of competitive disruption via induced ...

Isca tóxica e disrupção sexual no controle da mosca-da-fruta sul-americana e da mariposa-oriental em pessegueiro Toxic bait and mating disruption to control the American fruit fly and the oriental fruit moth on peach orchards

Mechanisms mediating false codling moth, Thaumatotibia leucotreta (lepidoptera: Tortricidae), mating disruption using point‐source pheromone dispensers

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 9, Page 5316-5323, September 2025.
The shift to non‐competitive disruption of Thaumatotibia leucotreta (FCM), resulted in 99% disruption and was achieved at a dosage of 800 dispensers/ha and remained effective with 36 pheromone release sites per ha. Mating disruption is, therefore, highly recommended to form part of the current integrated pest management program for FCM.

Effects of Aging and Polygamy on the Reproductive Performance of Grapholita Molesta (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae)

open access: yesRevista Colombiana de Entomología, 2011
Males and females of Grapholita molesta (Lep., Tortricidae) are polygamous. In order to evaluate the effects of polyandry and polygyny in the reproductive performance of this species, newly-emerged adults were submitted to either of two treatments: monogamous couples together until death or ...

Life history and fitness costs in the lambda‐cyhalothrin resistant clone of English grain aphid, Sitobion avenae (Fabricius)

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 9, Page 5717-5726, September 2025.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the life‐history traits and fitness costs of English grain aphid clones that are resistant to lambda‐cyhalothrin (SA3) and susceptible to it (SA27). Overall, the results showed that there are differences in the stages of development, survival, reproduction and population growth.

Effect of Pest Control Strategies on Arthropod Pests of Apple in Europe: A Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Applied Entomology, Volume 149, Issue 6, Page 957-987, July 2025.
ABSTRACT Apple (Malus domestica Borkh.) is a major fruit crop in Europe. More than 200 phytophagous arthropod species thrive in European apple orchards, several of which are economically important pests. Due to the pest pressure on apple production, consumer demand for residue‐free products and current policies to make food production in the European ...
