The effects of integrated and single management method on weed biomass and density and tomato yield

open access: yesپژوهشهای زراعی ایران, 2009
Although, various weed control methods have been developed, weeds pose a permanent threat to the crop production. A field study was conducted in 2004 at the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad Research Field to evaluate the effects of different weed ...

An investigation into the design of cultivation systems for inter- and intra-row weed control [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The aim of this study was to investigate the factors that influence the design of soil engaging systems to mechanically control weeds between plants within the crop row in widely spaced field vegetables.

A Trp574–Leu substitution confers resistance to three classes of acetolactate synthase inhibitors in Australian brome grass (Bromus diandrus)

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Target‐site based imidazolinone resistance in brome grass was found to be conferred by a mutation at position 574 in the ALS gene and to severely impact the efficacy of the herbicide Intervix®, a co‐formulation of imazamox and imazapyr. Abstract BACKGROUND Brome grass (Bromus diandrus) is a prevalent weed in southern Australian cropping regions which ...

Fish and macroinvertebrates in lowland drainage canals with and without grass carp

open access: yes, 2006
Diploid grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella L.) were introduced to a lowland Waikato drainage canal at an initial density of 40-80 kg ha -1(83-167 fish ha -1) to control aquatic macrophytes and improve water flow.

Behavioural manipulation of the cabbage stem flea beetle (Psylliodes chrysocephala L): Prospects for push–pull strategies in oilseed rape

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Behavioural manipulation of Psylliodes chrysocephala provides promising opportunities for sustainable pest management in oilseed rape systems. This review synthesises evidence on glucosinolates and their volatile isothiocyanate derivatives as phagostimulants and attractants, alongside the repellent or antifeedant effects of non‐host plants, plant ...

Grass weeds control in transplanted rice with Cyhalofop-butyl

open access: yesJournal of Crop Protection, 2022
This experiment was performed to determine the appropriate dose of Cyhalofop-butyl (CB) for controlling grass weeds in transplanted rice. CB at four doses, including 50, 100, 150, and 200 g ai/ha was investigated and compared with current herbicides in rice at recommended doses. The results showed that CB 100, 150, and 200 g ai/ha significantly reduced

Pro‐197 mutations confer resistance to thiencarbazone but not to foramsulfuron in ALS‐resistant Poa annua populations

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Foramsulfuron remains effective on Pro‐197 Poa annua, but co‐formulation with thiencarbazone reduces efficacy due to limited activity and antagonism. Therefore, foramsulfuron + thiencarbazone should be used in fields without ALS‐resistant weeds to ensure effective in‐crop control.
