Phylogenetic limitations seem more decisive than life habit in the diversity of reptile skin micro‐ornamentation. The ancestral form possibly had polygonal cells with regular borders, smooth surface and had no ridges. Cell morphology change gradually on a single scale, especially widths at scale base are greater than those at middle.

Tracheal chambers as a key innovation for high‐frequency emission in bat echolocation
Abstract Key innovations are pivotal for biodiversity and facilitating evolutionary success, enabling organisms' adaptation to various ecological niches through the diversification of phenotypic traits. In mammals, notable adaptations include evolving hypsodonty for grazing on grasses and, for bats, evolving echolocation and wing acquisition.

The pelvis doesn't walk by itself: Wider pelves reduce the cost of walking over unstable surfaces
Abstract Walking over variable and/or unstable terrain is a key aspect of daily life and was crucial to the evolution of bipedalism. The ability to find gait solutions that maintained stability over uneven terrain for the least increase in metabolic cost was likely a hallmark of locomotor effectiveness in early humans, in particular acting as an ...

The quality of interaction with children in collective play: Children's agency
Abstract There is a growing body of studies on increasing the quality of infant–toddler education and care. Yet little attention has been directed towards how to bring toddlers' agency and perspective to their personally meaningful learning in collective play.
