MicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 5, October 2026.Long‐read 16S sequencing uncovers the gut microbiome of H. tamulus. A highly conserved and low‐diversity bacterial community dominates the gut fauna. Bacillus and Mycoplasma lineages emerge as predominant candidate endosymbionts.
