DETERMINATION OF THE HONG KONG GRAVIMETRIC GEOID
Survey Review, 2001Abstract Precise determination of local geoid is of particular importance for GPS heighting. A geoid can be accurately obtained with an optimal combination of a global geo-potential model, local gravity measurements, and the topographic information. This paper uses the remove-restore technique to construct the Hong Kong gravimetric geoid.

Detailed gravimetric geoid for the North Atlantic
Bulletin Géodésique, 1979A detailed gravimetric geoid in the North Atlantic Ocean, named DGGNA-77, has been computed, based on a satellite and gravimetry derived earth potential model (consisting in spherical harmonic coefficients up to degree and order 30) and mean free air surface gravity anomalies (35180 1°×1° mean values and 245000 4′×4′ mean values).

Gravimetric Geoid Determination in the Andes
2005As a preliminary analysis for the development and evaluation of a precise gravimetric geoid for Argentina, different gravimetric geoid solutions were computed using different gravity reduction techniques in the roughest area of the country.

Factors affecting FFT gravimetric geoid determination precision
Physics and Chemistry of the Earth, Part A: Solid Earth and Geodesy, 2000Abstract The Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT) has become a routine mathematical tool for the refinement of the Earth's gravity field, such as the computation of precise gravimetric geoid and terrain corrections, particularly over a large area. This paper presents ideas and methodologies to evaluate the accuracy of geoid undulation computations using

A Gravimetric Geoid in Taiwan Area
1990The paper describes the theoretical aspects of the gravimetric geoid. Stokes’ integral convolution approach reformulated for the higher-order reference field, OSU86F in this case, is used. In addition to the theoretical aspects, an example of the actual solution for Taiwan area is shown.

Improved Gravimetric Geoid AGG97 of Austria
1998In 1995 at the IUGG-meeting in Boulder, the project of recomputation of the Austrian geoid under the title GEOID2000 was announced. The aim of this project is to get a geoid with an absolute accuracy of one centimeter. One of the studies within this project is dedicated to the computation of a pure gravimetric geoid and the accuracy which can be ...

Marine Geophysical Researches, 1984
Gravimetric geoid heights and gravimetric vertical deflections have been determined for Europe including the Mediterranean Sea, North Sea, Norwegian Sea, Baltic Sea and parts of the North Atlantic Ocean in a 12′ × 20′ grid. The computation has been carried out by least squares spectral combination using closed integral formulas, combining 104 000 mean ...

A New Argentinean Gravimetric Geoid Model: GEOIDEAR
2017A new Argentinean gravimetric geoid model named GEOIDEAR was developed using the remove-compute-restore technique and incorporating the GOCO05S satellite-only global geopotential model (GGM) together with 560,656 land and marine gravity measurements. Terrain corrections were calculated for all gravity observations using a combination of the SRTM_v4.1 ...

Towards an Improved Gravimetric Geoid in Albania
Abstract The determination of a high-accuracy and high-resolution geoid is of indispensable importance as it forms one of the cornerstones of a modern geodetic reference system. With that in mind, the State Authority for Geospatial Information (ASIG) of the Republic of Albania has launched an effort to modernize the gravity infrastructure of ...G. S. Vergos +7 more

Precise gravimetric geoid computations over large regions
2005Methods for gravimetric geoid computations are reviewed and compared on two long GPS profiles in Scandinavia and Australia. The comparison of GPS determined and gravimetric geoid undulations have yielded accuracies down to 12 cm r.m.s. in Scandinavia, and 22 cm r.m.s.
