The Gravimetric Geoid in Spain: First Results

1991
A method for validation of gravity anomalies, and the prediction of geoid undulation in a small zone in the center of Spain, using the least squares collocation method are presented.

The Development of the European Gravimetric Geoid Model EGG07

2008
The European Gravity and Geoid Project (EGGP) is a project within IAG Commission 2, reporting to Sub-commission 2.4. The main goal of the project is to compute an improved European geoid and quasigeoid model based on new and improved data sets which have become available since the last computation in 1997 (EGG97). The improvements include better global

SWOT-Derived Geometric Marine Geoid Surface complements Gravimetric Geoid Modelling approaches

This research investigates the synergy of utilizing sea surface height (SSH) measurements from the non-dedicated Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) altimetry mission in conjunction with hydrodynamic models and in-situ measurements. The SSH and geoid are linked through dynamic topography (DT), which can be obtained from hydrodynamic models.

Insights into the Mexican Gravimetric Geoid (GGM05)

2008
The precise geoid determination technique from the University of New Brunswick (UNB) was adopted in Mexico to compute the national geoid model GGM05. To generate it, the input data was treated carefully and the theoretical background is well established. However, the final assessment gives unsatisfactory biases at level of metres.

A new European Gravimetric (Quasi)Geoid EGG2015

2015
A series of European geoid and quasigeoid models was computed at Institut für Erdmessung (IfE) with support of the International Association of Geodesy (IAG), presently in the form of IAG Sub-Commission 2.4a “Gravity and Geoid in Europe”. The last major re-computation was performed in 2008 and is denoted as EGG2008 (European Gravimetric Geoid 2008 ...

Gravimetric geoid for Egypt implementing Moho depths and optimal geoid fitting approach

Studia Geophysica et Geodaetica, 2017
The aim of this paper is to investigate the effect of implementing the experimentally determined GEMMA Moho depths (GOCE Exploitation for Moho Modeling and Applications), which are partly seismically estimated, in gravimetric geoid computation in Egypt.

A 10’ × 10’ detailed gravimetric geoid around Japan

Marine Geodesy, 1983
Abstract A detailed gravimetric geoid around Japan is computed based on 10’ X 10’ block mean gravity anomalies. The block mean gravity anomalies are obtained by the use of the least‐squares collocation technique from point gravity data in a gravity data file compiled by the Hydrographic Department of Japan.
