Two-component gravitational lens
Russian Physics Journal, 2013UDC 524 The propagation of light rays in a spherically symmetric galactic gravitational field generated by dark matter as well as by the baryonic component is investigated. Primary attention is given to the case where the contributions of both these components to gravitational lensing are comparable.

2008
Recently, interest in gravitational lenses has expanded to include the study of the images of extended sources such as galaxies as well as of those of unresolved point sources like quasars. The giant luminous arcs associated with the rich clusters Abell 370, Cl2244-02, and Abell 963, together with the ring radio source MG1131+0456, are now widely ...

Gravitational Lens Effect: An Observational Test
Science, 1966The large proper motion of the nearby star 40 Eridani-A will pass a distant star in 1988. It should be possible to observe the gravitational lens effect of this eclipse by existing photoelectric methods.

The gravitational lens equation

Mirages Caused by a Gravitational Lens
1987Unlike most of the important discoveries reported in astronomy, the physics of gravitational lenses was understood well before their existence was proven. In 1936, Albert Einstein published the results of some calculations concerning the lens effects caused by the gravitational field of a star — the lens — on the light emitted by another star — the ...
