The model of the Bodaibo graben formation: geological and geophysical aspects

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Геология и разведка, 2019
The problem of the Bodaibo graben formation has been considered within the framework of the proposed tectonic scheme of the Baikal-Patom fold belt crystalline basement — the Paleoproterozoic Baikal-Viluisk granulite-gneiss belt, which divides the ...

The Gravity of the Classical Klein-Gordon Field [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry, 2019
The work shows that the evolution of the field of the free Klein–Gordon equation (KGE), in the hydrodynamic representation, can be represented by the motion of a mass density ∝ | ψ | 2 subject to the Bohm-type quantum potential, whose equation can be derived by a minimum action principle.

Optics in a field of gravity [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Physics, 2009
An observer at rest in a uniformly accelerated reference frame experiences a parallel gravitational field. As a result, rays of light are formed as circular arcs instead of being straight lines. We deduce how a sphere at rest in this frame and a freely falling sphere in this frame appear to an observer at rest.

Direct Metal Deposition of Graphene–Ti28Nb35.4Zr Matrix Composites With Enhanced Mechanical, Corrosion, and Biocompatibility Properties for Bone Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Graphene nanoplatelet (0.1 wt.%) reinforcement significantly enhances the performance of β Ti‐28Nb‐35.4Zr alloy. Grain refinement, reduced water contact angle, and improved surface characteristics promote osteoblast adhesion and complete surface coverage after 7 days.

The Impact of Rising Reservoir Water Level on the Gravity Field and Seismic Activity in the Reservoir Area: Evidence from the Impoundment of the Three Gorges Reservoir (China)

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Using the test–retest data of the relative gravity field and earthquake monitoring catalog of the Three Gorges Reservoir (TGR) from October 2001 to October 2009, this paper systematically analyzes the changes in the gravity field in the head area of the ...

Transfer Printing and Reconfiguration of Soft Electronics Using Digital Microfluidics and Laser Machining

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a digital microfluidics‐based technique for transferring and reconfiguring soft nanomembranes. Laser‐machined nanothin membranes are picked up, transported, and aligned via tailored surface tension and the actuation of water droplets, enabling the development of flexible electronics, the integration of functional materials on 3D ...

Local Gravity and Geoid Improvements around the Gavdos Satellite Altimetry Cal/Val Site

open access: yesRemote Sensing
The isle of Gavdos, and its wider area, is one of the few places worldwide where the calibration and validation of altimetric satellites has been carried out during the last, more than, two decades using dedicated techniques at sea and on land.

Spacetime and the Philosophical Challenge of Quantum Gravity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We survey some philosophical aspects of the search for a quantum theory of gravity, emphasising how quantum gravity throws into doubt the treatment of spacetime common to the two `ingredient theories' (quantum theory and general relativity), as a 4 ...

Digitizing the Filtration Interface: A Smart, Modular Janus Wood Platform for Self‐Reporting Oil/Water Remediation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work developed a smart Janus wood membrane integrating asymmetric wettability with built‐in electrical sensing for oil‐water separation. The membrane achieved > 99.5% separation efficiency and high flux by leveraging wood's natural anisotropic pore structure.
