Superconducting gravity gradiometers

AIP Conference Proceedings, 1978
Two types of superconducting gravity gradiometers have been developed. Both employ superconducting test masses suspended by niobium diaphragms whose motions modulate persistent currents in superconducting loops. A current signal proportional to the gravity gradient is detected by a 19 MHz SQUID.

Gravity gradiometer integrated inertial navigation

2013 European Control Conference (ECC), 2013
In high precision inertial navigation, gravity field modeling error becomes a limiting factor. Granted that high precision accelerometers are used, airborne gravity gradiometry can be employed in a self-contained way to accurately estimate the gravity field on the fly and eliminate the gravity field modeling error.

A high frequency resonance gravity gradiometer

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2014
A new setup OGRAN—the large scale opto-acoustical gravitational detector is described. As distinguished from known gravitational bar detectors it uses the optical interferometrical readout for registering weak variations of gravity gradient at the kilohetz frequency region.
