Gravure printed organic rectifying diodes operating at high frequencies
Organic Electronics, 2009Organic rectifier diodes operating at 10 MHz made using roll-to-roll compatible mass printing processes to define patterns and deposit inks are reported. The diodes consist of a layer of poly(triarylamine) sandwiched between layers of silver and copper.

R2R gravure and inkjet printed RF resonant tag
Microelectronic Engineering, 2011The fabrication of passive circuitry by gravure and inkjet printing is studied. A chipless inductively coupled RF resonant tag is analyzed as a test structure. A floating-bridge layout is employed to provide high yield when fabricated by roll-to-roll (R2R) printing.

Some factors affecting ink transfer in gravure printing
Pigment & Resin Technology, 2002Many factors affect the print quality and ink transfer. These are either machine factors, paper factors, or Ink factors. The aim of this work was to find out to what extent are the amount of ink transferred influenced by the previously mentioned factors. Atomic absorption was used for quantitatively measuring the amount of ink transferred.

Fully Gravure Printed Half Adder on Plastic Foils
IEEE Electron Device Letters, 2011All-printed half adders will be the first step to the way of printing an arithmetic logic unit which will be further expanded to printing microprocessors directly onto flexible plastic foils. In this letter, the half-adder circuit has been constructed using an all gravure printing process on poly(ethylene terephtalate) foils.

Gravure offset printing of polymer inks for conductors
Progress in Organic Coatings, 2004Abstract A gravure offset printing process has been developed for Ag-filled polymer conductor ink. Pad printing and roller type printing have been used. Curing and electrical properties have been studied. A roller type of gravure offset printing has been used to evaluate the printing process and pad printing to print on the non-planar substrates ...

Non-Newtonian ink transfer in gravure–offset printing
International Journal of Heat and Fluid Flow, 2011Abstract The inks used in gravure–offset printing are non-Newtonian fluids with higher viscosities and lower surface tensions than Newtonian fluids. This paper examines the transfer of a non-Newtonian ink between a flat plate and a groove when the plate is moved upward with a constant velocity while the groove is held fixed.

On the Ink Transfer Process in Gravure Printing
2007The flow simulating ink transfer process of gravure printing applications was investigated numerically using a finite difference approach. The flow was assumed to be described by the Reynolds equation and the Oldroyd B model. In this simple situation, it turns out that the velocity and pressure fields are the same as in the Newtonian case. However, two

Gravure printing of Ag electrodes for electroluminescent lighting
2016 IEEE 18th Electronics Packaging Technology Conference (EPTC), 2016Electroluminescent lighting (EL) is a form of printed lighting on flexible film processed traditionally using screen printing technique for small areas or panel sized formats. Roll to roll slot coating of EL inks (phosphor, dielectric and Ag conductor) was implemented to increase productivity for large area printed electronics applications.
