Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Potent neutralization by antibodies targeting the MPXV A28 protein
Monkeypox virus (MPXV) is the most pathogenic Poxvirus in circulation, yet key viral antigens remain immunologically unexplored. We isolate and characterize a panel of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) targeting MPXV A28 (OPG153), an important membranal ...

La Porte City Chert - Devonian Subsurface Formation in Central Iowa: Report of Investigations 4, 1967 [PDF]
A study of well samples from central Iowa shows that a distinct rock-stratigraphic unit is present beneath the Devonian Wapsipinicon Formation and above the characteristic dolomites and cherts of the Silurian Niagaran Series.

Sedimentation and subsidence history of the Lomonosov Ridge [PDF]
During the first scientific ocean drilling expedition to the Arctic Ocean (Arctic Coring Expedition [ACEX]; Integrated Ocean Drilling Program Expedition 302), four sites were drilled and cored atop the central part of the Lomonosov Ridge in the Arctic ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
